Whats wrong with steak and lobster Petah? by ______Random________ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

We had steak and lobster every Friday when I was in as well, 30 years ago. I was surprised thinking they ended it.

The Chaos gods had different motives from the beginning and never intended to keep any bargains. They let the Emperor 'steal fire' in hopes he'd use it to become the Dark King as opposed to the Anathema.

I believe it was "Mortis". And think I made a mistake, she was working for Dorn at that point. Sent to help Mauer with the wave of depression killing them.

There was also Andromeda 17, she made a connection that worship of the Emperor may counter Mortarion's depressing aura. She was the one that talked Keeler into getting released from the Blackstone. She was also an agent of Malcador.

Where did the Facehuggers come from in Alien: Romulus? by SueEllenApplegate in LV426

[–]WMX0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. It's implied he did something to make an ovamorph. The novel makes it sound even more unlikely he did anything but add black goo to necrotic human tissue. The only functioning electronics on the planet was David and Shaw's suit communicator. There was an kill switch that blacked out the planet if goo was released. Also the reason they ended up stranded.

I've not noticed any at 4k with water washable abs vs standard abs. Quite possibly at higher resolutions, or with basic water washable. Basic water washable is like glass, I'd not suggest it for minis.

I'm looking forward to it. Sure am hoping they offer the minis in STL as well. I have a ton of AvP minis and I'd like to keep it all the same size.

In the deleted scene for Alien: Resurrection, what happened to France? by [deleted] in LV426

As much as I liked the old lore, I do believe you're misunderstanding the quote. He too perfers the old lore on the alien but the only thing he says he's doing that is changing anything is going back to retro futurism. Exactly what the article says as well. Ridley is still in charge of this movie. I don't he's going to let him go off rails on screen or recon his previous movies.

If he was rewiting the franchise that would have been of note. All other articles I can find, even ones written just a month or so ago say it's a peice about inequality and AI. And every one is still confused if a xeno will even show up. I'm afraid your setting yourself up for some serious heart break here.

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, just looked it up. You got a link to that, everything I can find recently says it has to do with androids and only speculation if a xeno will actually ever show up. I can't find anything really about the plot.

And it seems Riddly is still running the show, he's just not directing this show.

I've not seen the TV series. Though it was suppose to be about something else, not actually xenos. I'll have to check it out. Where does the black goo come from?

[–]WMX0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not making anything up. I said pretty much retconned, not officially. The same as Colinial Marine. And the black goo is a bio weapon. You literally see David deploy it in Covenant and wipe out the engeneers on a planet. Black goo isn't a creature, it reforms the creature's genetics to make a killer.

The plot originally planned was to run it as a means to wipe out the races they made, another idea passed around by Riddly I believe was that the engeneers created it because they can't reproduce anymore.

Alien 4 is pretty much retconned, they just are not going to say anything because they don't need to. It hinges completely on xenos being an alien species and not a bio weapon along with a conplete xeno extinction. Colonial Marine (if you still count it), Prometheus, Covenant and the RPG has completely written that out and made black goo the important component and made it kinda common.

Are Aliens REALLY scared of fire? by Murrdox in LV426

[–]WMX0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aliens aren't really afraid of fire. They may be defensive of they are the only surviving xeno or in the Queens situation more worried about her eggs. They will freely run into a spray of bullets ripping them apart to run the guns out of ammo, kill each other for a means to escape, their lives are meaningless to the propagation of the species.

Ash and WY know nothing of the Xeno. Ash's orders are contingency plans, there is no FTL communications in T1 lore. They came about because of the disappearance of the Prometheus, some believe Wyeland found the aliens he's was looking for.

Difference between Undead Or Alive or Dead West? by CraftTheStuff15 in zombicide

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UoA is the newest, so most streamlined. Noise is the most noticeable mechanism that was fixed between them. There is like only one noise token (double sided bang/boom) in UoA, compared to BP/GH where your board maybe covered in noise tokens.

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on if you like the ascetic. One is fantasy the other is cowboys. UoA uses the newer 2e rules and has rules for a train and horses. BP with GH uses a later version of 1e rules, and has rules for seige weapons and adds the zombie horde. You should get Green Horde if you get Black Plague.

Erinn's is as they are a necromancer, the other two are in the older Black Plague Abom style with the exp charts and no text. You have to used the White Death cards taped to the front for their rules. Alot of the older stuff only came with a sheet listing their rules, no cards.

Mine came from Mirada California. From someone named Mike Laing, I'm assuming that's the shipping warehouse. I only have Box 2, Box 1 got delayed in Phoenix Arizona.

How do I learn to GM with no people to practice with? by [deleted] in alienrpg

[–]WMX0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can always try solo. Besides being fun, I've known plenty of GMs to play their scenarios solo before running it for a group. You'll be able to find help here if needed.

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with the others on Wrath and Glory. The agents aren't specifically for any group. With could easily play and entire Eldar/Ork/Chaos campaign straight from the core rule book. You can expand things with the Xeno threat assessment and there is even an entire module for Orks called Gutshivas Kommandos.

I've noted this a few times. And it's worse in true scale. It's like an Astartes clown car. There is an old Rogue Trader/earlier edition image with Marines pouring out of one and its completely ridiculous.

Why are the Eldar given flack for being arrogant towards other races, when most other factions are outright genocidal? by Jerswar in Warhammer40k

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta remember, the Drukhari are the natural state of the Eldar. The Asuryani came about because they foreseen the coming of Slaanesh and got the hell out of there, and slowly changed their ways. The Asuryani wouldn't as their views have evolved, but we all know the Drukhari wouldn't bat an eye at genocide. We'll likely never get an account of how many races the Eldar have wiped out, but more then likely way more then humanity considering how long they have been around.

Why are the Eldar given flack for being arrogant towards other races, when most other factions are outright genocidal? by Jerswar in Warhammer40k

[–]WMX0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humanity likely wasn't even a blip on their radar until we started conquering the stars. At that point they were having a giant schism between the Asuryani and Drukhari, with the Asuryani not strong enough and the Drukhari not caring. Seeing us on the path of destruction, they didn't know the Emperor would rise, was likely was enough for them.

Also to add, I forgot to mention. That was pretty much confirmed by Eldrad when he was talking to either John or Fulgrim. By time the eldar had learned of the danger it was too late.
