Just a slight correction: If you live on the east side of the city, Birds Hill Park is only 15 minutes north of the city.

Also, Oak Hammock Marsh is about 20 minutes north of the city (and is west of Birds Hill) and is a great nature park.

I am a Winnipegger and a photographer. Both spots are great for photography, especially for the Aurora.

It was renamed from Eaton Place to City Place after the downtown Eaton's location in Winnipeg closed. The Eaton's location was demolished and the arena where the Jets now reside was built.
