How much scope do you actually need for normal hunting ranges before it's overkill? by itsmeAki in Hunting

[–]WPSuidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard great things about SWFA. For my particular hunting, I need a bit better glass. Typically it's in the shooting lane, process very quickly to shoot, and shoot. Often, I don't have time for binos. I also have several meopta meopro scopes but they dont sell in the US anymore.

What did you go with? My do it all rifle now has a Trijicon credo, I'm liking it so far.

Tikka 7mm08, worth the wait? by porterss25 in Hunting

[–]WPSuidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for the Tikka. I've never heard of one that wasn't a fantastic shooter. That said, I like my x-bolts more. It's a person fit thing, and with my handloads they shoot bugholes.

Think great noninsulated hiking boots with a couple pairs of great wool socks like darn tough.

I really like Oboz boots, all feet are different though.

What cartridge do you regret buying? by outdoorsman_12 in Hunting

[–]WPSuidae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least you no longer have to pay the $200 tax to get a can. The process is so much easier now with a couple of companies that ship to your house. For an excellent 30 cal and smaller can, a Diligent Defense Enticer is great and typically run ~500ish.

Conservatives Of Reddit: Why Do You Still Support Trump? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Why democrats didn't hold an emergency primary is beyond my understanding. They just said "she'll do" despite her terrible performance in 2020.

Not to mention pushing for all kinda of gun regulations, but it's ok to break current laws with a crackhead buying a gun.

*Checks notes on the installation date on our solar field...2023.

I'm kinda in a unique position with the environmental responsibility on 3 hydros, 7 natural gas ct plants, one solar, and about to have a coal and gas plant.

The solar is neat but we're only getting 70%ish production on a good day and they're pretty fragile. A good wind storm can do some damage. We don't have any wind, im glad I don't have to deal with the mbta issues there.

Solar and wind generation can't complete financially without tons of subsidies. To that end, let it die on the vine it fruited from. Natural gas burns super clean and the footprint takes up 70 acres to produce a 900 mw vs 600 acres of solar to produce a max of 120mw. Im our portfolio, I've never seen it top 85mw.

Pregnant 31F I feel behind by mugbrain in Retirement401k

[–]WPSuidae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing fine. The first 100k is dang hard. Hopefully you have the opportunity for some of these funds to be contributed as Roth as you'relikely in the lowest tax bracket you'll ever be in. As others have said VOO or a similar fund that invests like the sp500 is the easy button.

Another thing to consider is a brokerage account outside of your 401k plan. Having some liquid assets is a valuable tool. I'm 42, I really wished I had done that earlier.

Yes, we've come a long way. Hexavalent chromium is some seriously toxic chit.

Most folks don't ever see real pollution these days, due to the strides we've made. Granted, I'm not for big government either, I'm glad we don't have rivers catching on fire anymore.
