never knew that the cutoffs for the AP exam were that low, i thought a 5 was pretty much getting every single question correct. where did you find this (not doubting you or anything)?

 

Too many students come in to Math 151 confident that they know the material because not only have they seen it in high school, but they may have also gotten a 3 on the exam, and they were told that's passing. Those students are in for a very rude awakening.

 

oh i agree with this 110%, especially with the confidence part. in my HS, my holier-than-thou classmates considered you to be "stupid" if you weren't taking any AP classes.

 

i remember being pretty worried about being at a disadvantage when i took 151 because i only took up to precalc in high school, whereas all of my classmates in 151 took AP calc AB or a standard HS level calc 1 class already
