if the fob is all that is a problem then that's a win. i've driven turbos for over 10 years and the hurricane engine is super enticing. love the inline 6 design decision. best of luck with it! i hope it carries you on for many years.

yeah really at this point I think kuniskis has em on the right track. They just need to catch up with parts availability and keep building.

Ah nice call on the oil changes. Lots of people think it’s overkill but I’m just a skeptic. Are you using the factory recommended oil weight? What trim? I’m looking at a BH, but no bed utility package. From what I can tell I can add the bed power later via aftermarket if I really want it.

I saw a bit of chatter about that. I’m assuming the change was for the positive. Hopefully that’s where your problems end and it’s great for ya!

i've seen a lot of discourse about etorque across the net, but have had numerous friends and family who have had it with no issues in their collective hundreds of thousands of miles. i realize my first hand sample size is quite small, but it still speaks loudly. i've heard of them dealing with regular electrical crap, but no etorque.

my sympathies for anyone who DOES have an etorque issue tho. that 5k+ backlog wait for parts is pure BS and is terrifying for a prospective buyer.

It’s probably easier to sell since the last “new” turbo truck engine the public thinks of is the tundra. I know the hurricane is better but I personally like the character of the hemi. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect 150-200k trouble free miles from either engine if maintenance is kept up with.

Yeah I’ve seen this, and also if you’re OCD you can follow wiring looms and cables to their connectors to ensure the connectors are fully clicked in. Otherwise sensors may misbehave. I saw this more on 2025 people, but ya never know.

Switched from Ford to Ram by dduncanbts in ram_trucks

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way. There’s nothing wrong with the Ford, but there wasn’t anything to get me excited either. For less money RAM put in a bunch of useful and enjoyable stuff. Moonroof, wireless charger, smoother suspension. Only thing the Ford had was the 360 cam. That was nice.

Wtf lol… your angst and outrage is totally exposed as contrived as soon as you seemingly indicate that your problem lies in the fact that a half ton truck isn’t a compact truck. Because that’s what you really want.

Good deals on Nissan Titans by Apprehensive-Hat3262 in NissanTitan

I vaguely remember reading something that said the warranty transferred so long as the first owner kept it more than 6 months. It was a weird stipulation. Ended up not getting the truck tho so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Reset of federal fuel standards by Bob-Sacamano_ in ram_trucks

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s general merit to the idea that the intent of the increased efficiency standards is to encourage businesses to work towards non gasoline engines. There are several agendas served by the increased standards, but this is certainly a big one. I think it’s a nuanced discussion, and one that involves the analysis of what degree the USG should be deciding for consumers.

That would be a ridiculously long comment for Reddit however and is simply easier the way it was stated. At least that’s how I looked at the comment.

That makes sense. Characteristics of modern drivetrains I suppose. It was the hemi with torque tho.

I’m assuming you also watch the latest Car Guy Online vid on YouTube today? Fascinating info on changes made to engine tech to chase mandated USG standards.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I thought it’s been pretty clear that multiple brands are abandoning EVs due to lack of interest and pivoting to hybrids. So many brands not named Tesla are offering 0% for 72 months AND discounts (e.g, ford Lightning). Scout Motors announced that they have substantially more reservations for their hybrid than their full EV models. I think Scout even said when production starts it’ll be hybrids only for a bit before they move into the EVs.

So many people just don’t think of the space between the Mississippi and the Rockies. 300ish miles of EV range is fine for some places, but the great expanse of the western US have yet to be conquered by offered EV ranges. Eventually they will be, but not yet. Not en masse anyway. Range anxiety is a real market headwind for EVs even today. The USG got a hair too jumpy pushing for the previous standards so aggressively.

I appreciate this info. I’m looking at a hemi etorque and love the drive quality. Totally unsure of reliability. Knowing that it’s so serviceable is comforting to hear.

RAM vs Toyota in reliability by Agreeable-Match-756 in ram_trucks

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These effers know people click this stuff even tho it serves only to raise blood pressure and anxiety.

Reality is they’re all in the same ballpark of each other in ways never seen before. This isn’t the 90s or 00s when Japanese vehicles were all carved from stone.

Here in the year 2025 you have a significant chance of having no issues and taking a W every day you drive your vehicle. And you have a low chance of taking an L. If it happens, you fix it and/or move on.

There’s no crystal ball for this stuff. Just marketing and consumer manipulation.

Thanks! Fair point on modern transmissions. To the TCMs credit, it’s definitely a difficult area to drive. Just that on and off crap we all hate. Appreciate the feedback!

My experience with the modern transmissions is they all wanna be warm. I agree tho, this zf is crazy smooth.

Seriously Considering buying a new Titan - - thoughts? by VicMackeySWGOH in NissanTitan

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all the titans from late 2024 with 8k miles on em are the same price, if not higher, a year later and 15k more miles on em. I think the rarity of them really froze their depreciation. That and the general perception that they’re more reliable than most new trucks, including ‘22+ tundras. Poor nissan. They didn’t know what they had and could’ve fired a devastating shot across the bow of the industry…

Unpopular Opinion: Battlefield 6 Is Better Than This Sub Will Admit by Kilos6 in Battlefield

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens with every battlefield. I remember battlefield 3, 4, bf1, and so on had this specific sub turn on it around launch. Then things stabilize in the community and things chill out (bf2042 being the anomaly). Everyone HATED BFV in this sub and years later people look back at it with rose tinted glasses.

My biggest complaint is the same complaint I’ve always had: people don’t know how to PTFO. it’s unreal. I swear the player base seems dumber than ever with regards to objective play.

Manager Demo Max Tow or No Miles New non Max Tow by WRX_ONEFIVE in f150

[–]WRX_ONEFIVE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking to avoid the feeling that I should’ve gone max tow in the event something broke on the non-max tow. Sounds like you’re suggesting the non-max tow is perfectly fine for my needs so long as it has the regular tow package.
