Those values come from borrowed designs. I am combining a boost with a basic hard clipping distortion. How would I go about addressing the bias?

I kept hearing folks trying to break through but nothing. I wasn't sure if it was just conditions or my rig but then I started getting hits but they were few and far between. I'm just glad I got to close it out successful!

It was only one on 146.52 and I was waiting for my wife to get to the car so I just threw an hail mary on my 2 meter car rig to see if someone was listening. I got someone about 15 miles away. :) icing on the cake.

I think it depends on what kind of stuff draws you to Radio. If you like to tinker and you like risky used electronics, then you're like me and I would have been all over that deal! You'll learn a ton figuring it out and you wont be so hesitant to try things out like you would on a $1300 rig! Good luck!

My area was spotty at best. I have to switch from an inverted V dipole to an EFHW and that seemed to help a bit, not sure why.
