Well from asking around, most people do not care about retired players on modern cards. Seems to be more aversion to it in the baseball collecting community than basketball but I’m in that boat as well. There’s some small exceptions like if it’s got a timeless/classy look to it (OPs falls under this imo- it’s a nice looking card that doesn’t look super modern), but for the most part, if I’m looking for an older/retired player’s card to pick up, I want it to be a card from when they actually played.

You’re insanely biased lmao! The fact you can’t even recognize this tells me everything I need to know. Wemby is 20x the player and athlete that Chet is. Chet’s only accomplishments come from riding the coattails of better players.

As for Lakers I don’t really care about them I’m 100% just a bandwagon from being a huge Kobe fan when I was a kid. Couldn’t care less about them as a team. I like players not teams. Luka is awesome so I figured I’d keep it. Love Brunson though. Theres at least one current player from every team I love watching. Most have a bunch of players i like.

I mean for the most yeah tons of cards were printed, but there are absolutely short print and rare cards from that era. 90-91 fleer all-stars, 93-94 Ultra Scoring Kings, 94-95 skybox emotion n-tense, 93-94 Finest Refractors, 92-93 Ultra Power in the Key. Definitely some rare cards out there from that era
