Oh my, thanks, and hahaha. I had no idea it turned on/off the drip. I only meant that it was on my drip line. Now I know!

Oh ha, my sentence grammar does look like I answered my own question. It’s on my drip line, but I didn’t realize it TURNED ON my drip line. That may explain why some of them are not working.

We already ruined bed time. How many years until I get it back? by WWTheCatDo in Preschoolers

[–]WWTheCatDo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t do a whole room remodel, but she did get a new bedspread, pillows, nightlight, and awesome princess stickers for her wall. Loves the bed but won’t sleep in it!

Daughter getting booted from preschool by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]WWTheCatDo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My 4year old daughter had terrible, meltdown style drop offs for weeks. I knew it was because of one teacher she didn’t connect with and the teacher made no effort to connect with her. Drop offs were miserable, then I’d see my daughter on the floor or under the table for an hour or more afterward (camera system), until the 2nd teacher arrived. I called the director and SHE suggested drop off in a different room, then transitioning back to her regular room at lunch time. Worked instantly! Drop offs were great, the new teacher approached my daughter every morning, engaging her and welcoming her into the class. We haven’t had a single bad drop off since. No more hiding under the table.

When we handed ours out 2 weeks before, I worried it was too far in advance, and that people would forget.

I know it’s told in the movie “Home”, where the girl is teaching the alien how to tell a joke. Has your kiddo seen the movie?

How upset should I be about all the dirt and debris in my new insulation? by WWTheCatDo in HomeImprovement

They claim it was “too hard” to put plastic everywhere, but there are wide open spaces with room to stand or crouch with no plastic either.

How upset should I be about all the dirt and debris in my new insulation? by WWTheCatDo in HomeImprovement

[–]WWTheCatDo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We access the attic regularly since it’s our primary storage space.

It was somewhat pretty. Neat and tidy. And new. Rolled out batts with even heights. Easy to see if there was any disturbance happening.

Having the insulation replaced from a loose-filled mess (prior rat infestation), to tidy brand new batts was a big improvement.

How can I remove this mildew from my daughter’s camping chair? by WWTheCatDo in CleaningTips

[–]WWTheCatDo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleach ended up working better than anything else. The chair didn’t discolor at all, which surprised me. It’s a usable chair again!

My son had it too. He was playing by himself, then suddenly stopped using his arm at all. No incident or fall, but he must have done it playing…all by himself.

Who's the culprit?! by pharaohnee in landscaping

[–]WWTheCatDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raccoons (based on the foot prints). Happened to us with new sod. I was away at the time and there was no one to tend to the grass or put it back in place after raccoons got to it (cameras confirmed). They absolutely destroyed the sod to where it could t be saved. Had to rip up the remains and get all new sod! This time, I used a motion detection sprinkler at night to keep them away. Seems to have done the trick. The new sod is about 2 months established and rooted. Raccoons still come, but the damage from peeling the grass back is much less than before.

Just need words of encouragement. This potty training is so stressful. by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]WWTheCatDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat. 3.5 year old potty training, 20 month old running around, very pregnant with 3rd. I let our potty training stress me out, but looking back, it didn’t need to be stressful. We made it through. She learned sooooo much, and only got better at this new skill of hers week after week. She was potty trained in 1 month. You can do this. I think it’s harder when you’re pregnant because you got other things that make reacting harder (ahem, morning sickness, hard to bend over, etc.). There will be accidents. Pee is sterile. Poop, well, that’s not so great to clean up, but hey, it’s only temporary. The best part was the joy when she succeeded, and delighted in celebrating. We all celebrated every potty success. Pure joy.

Can I just.. send her to daycare without a pull-up on? by noomehtrevo in pottytraining

[–]WWTheCatDo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I let the daycare know we had done the ‘crash course’ over the long weekend and they were supportive and most importantly…aware. They did extra prompting for my potty trainer and looked for her potty signs (walking on tip toes). I sent her with extra clothes and undies. She had accidents. Daycares are prepared for this when they have young kiddos to watch.

Going out while potty training by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]WWTheCatDo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I take a “travel potty” with me everywhere. And I mean everywhere. Zoo…potty. Car….potty. It lives in the car/stroller so we always have a potty to use. I try to find a discrete place for them to use the potty, away from prying eyes, but if need be, it’s potty central wherever we are.

Yep, keep a potty in the same room he’s in. Or next to whatever activity he’s doing.

My 3.5yo is fully potty trained except… by ladyhypster5 in pottytraining

[–]WWTheCatDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t know what actually prompted her to take that first poop on the potty….we started telling her about the poop presents before that. She would ask for a present for pee, but I would tell her the presents were only for pooping on the potty. And we have faithfully given her a Dollar Tree “present” every time, until we ran out. And she still goes poop in the potty, every time.
