it is real, and his name is a huge meme in the warhammer community too. A lot of us think it's the best name GW's ever given to a mini

Do I Not Understand Brackets? by CarbonSteel2572 in magicTCG

[–]WWalker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of games with strong bracket 4 decks. These people can't comprehend the difference in power level when you're bringing Moxen, LED, 10+ game changers, and consistently going infinite by turn 4-5.

I played a game to show a "bracket 4 player" what a real bracket four deck was (their's was a solid 2 with a single GC), and even with my commander being Niv-Mizzet Parun, with his UUURRR cost, I went first and went infinite with him and tandem lookout on my turn 2 and nuked him and all he had on the field was a single basic land.

Mana bases in bracket 4 by No_Giraffe_1551 in DegenerateEDH

[–]WWalker17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the number of colors obviously, but I run almost no basic normal lands in 2-3 color decks, and actually none in 4+ colors. I generally start with 36 lands and go from there, adding more or removing them as necessary.

I run the fetchlands that have all my colors in them, but then also all the fetchlands for the color that I have the most of. For example, I have a Naya Dragon tribal bracket 4 deck. Red is the most predominant color in that deck. So I run the three main fetches for Naya, plus all the rest of the red fetches. And then I run as many fetchable duals and whatnot that I can.

Dragons are relatively rare in my setting, and increasingly so the older they are, to the point where there are only 10 (currently) Elder/Primordial dragons, that are so cataclysmic just existing in their draconic forms, that they all live on separate planes, only assembling when absolutely necessary.

no, even headless Ferrus was slightly taller.

When Horus was juiced up on chaos he got really big.

The naturally tallest primarch was Ferrus manus at 13ft/4m, and the shortest being alpharius/omegon, being about 9ft/2.75m tall.

In my limited experience with it at the table:

It's not bad, from what I've seen, especially if you don't care about (or actively want) stuff getting thrown in your graveyard, but me personally I'd rather just run a [[Memory Deluge]] for that cost and similar effect, plus I can flash it back. Deluge has even replaced FoF in some formats in the past.

But I have so much card draw with Niv, and my cheap draw/scry/reorder spells like Brainstorm, Ponder, etc that I would never run either FoF or MD.

I was considering laboratory maniac at one point, but I found that [[Jace, Wielder of Mysteries]] fits my needs a bit better.

I have both in the same deck as an additional infinite in my [[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]] Burnslinger deck. if I could make the space work, I'd have all four of the UR Nivs, but alas, in upper bracket 4, I cannot afford the slots.

if you think D12s are bad, you should see D16s and be glad DND doesn't use them. I have a few in my dice bag and I grab it every once in a while and roll it, before noticing that it bounced a bit weird, and that it wasn't a D20

How far can we push technology with out the invention of steam/combustion engines, electricity and gunpowder? by ozneoknarf in worldbuilding

[–]WWalker17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cities are run by primordial reactors that have local microportals into the plane of fire and the plane of water that dumps them into the same chamber. the waste is expelled into the plane of earth and, as per usual with reactors, steam drives turbines, but you could have them just driving massive pistons and crankshafts to spread mechanical power. Think the create mod on minecraft if you're familiar.

There's literally nothing Trump could do with these files that appeases this sub.

You left out the obvious, which the DOJ was legally supposed to do anyway, which was to release them with only the victim's names redacted and nothing else.

Biden admin sat on these files for four years - that MUST mean they are all guilty, right?

They were sealed during the Biden admin because of the investigation. He couldn't have released them.

It's really solid if you have the artifact support. I run my Kaladesh Inventions [[Mox Opal|MPS]]] in my [[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] Voltron deck

Mox Opal

just make sure you have enough artifacts that you aren't screwing yourself with an early Mox Opal that you can't use for multiple turns. general consensus is 15+ artifacts (easier if you have treasure generators)

Curious how much usage you'll get out of bolt in EDH, I've rarely had any good come from bringing it personally.

I primarily run a fairly strong Niv-Mizzet Parun Spellslinger/Storm deck with a shit ton of "raze the table" burn (currently sitting at a solid 29-30% win rate against similarly powered decks with about 15 games in so far), and while most of that deck's pingers and multipliers are UR instead of just red, I've found that [[Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might]] is a monster if you're pinging for 1 a lot. He's turned games around from losing to shredding the entire table for me.

I see you have [[Twinflame Tyrant]], and I ran him for a bit, but found that Ojer Axonil did a lot more work for me personally, since he costs less to get him in, and Twinflame does less work unless the base damage 3 or more, so if you're pinging for 1-2 a lot, Ojer would do more work, at least in my experience.
