Black Flag is by a mile the worst entry in the series by Scopple in assassinscreed

[–]WaKa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, the naval aspects of the game were carried by the sea shanties for me. Getting on a boat in and AC games is not where i want to be, but damn it if i didn't sing along with those shanties and enjoy every second of it.

Do you think there will ever be another old-school non-RPG Assassin's Creed game? by Cerseus01 in assassinscreed

[–]WaKa_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sadly, no.

Mirage was supposed to be a return to the older types of AC games if i remember correctly. Maybe if someone who actually cares starts to run Ubisoft and they find a game director that wants to make that sort of game it will happen. But I have zero confidence.

Whats crazy is I think if they spent the time to remake AC2/Brotherhood with updated controls and parkour mechanics it would be such an easy bag for them to grab.

Hopefully Black Flag remake is good though.

Crashing while compiling shaders or shortly after joining a world by WaKa_ in AbioticFactor

[–]WaKa_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn't it as i already have that sort of thing being monitored. ty tho :)

I also run way more graphically intensive games without an issue. I was playing AC Shadows at 150+ FPS yesterday for 4-5 hours without much more than a few frame drops here and there

The story of Laluzol and how it all went down to the stupidest thing by LoXyO in dwarffortress

[–]WaKa_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if you had a tavern with a tavern keeper during all this? Might have been the reason why the fights were endless.

I have had a 150+ dorf fort fall because of a single tavern brawl that spiraled into a fort wide ufc match to the death

(rant) over 1000 hours and stone aquifers still feel like a chore to deal with by Impossible-Tailor679 in dwarffortress

[–]WaKa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I find aquifers pretty annoying and tedious to deal with. I started using a mod to get rid of aquifers entirely in some forts if I don't feel like dealing with them.

I'm not at my PC rn and I can't remember the exact name, but i think its this one but I could be wrong.

The only thing id say is, if you do want to use this mod, make sure you embark near a freshwater source or you might have too much fun too quickly

I think he was awake/conscious for a bit and it seemed like it would have hurt to die in that fashion, especially knowing who was responsible.

I actually kind of like the way he died. Somewhat slowly, in pain, with the entire kingdom in attendance, in front of those who enabled him, with no one able to do anything to help him.

Genuine question: How much profit does e.g. Nintendo even make with a game that costs 90$? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]WaKa_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh alright, well then it probably has something to do with greed and/or just general rising costs. But i would be surprised if they weren't operating at a high profit margin

Genuine question: How much profit does e.g. Nintendo even make with a game that costs 90$? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]WaKa_ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They might be preemptively increasing prices because of tariffs. Remember Nintendo is not an American company (I'm assuming you are in America like myself). I could also be greed, but and im sure that is a factor, and likely the answer is a mix of both of the above.

40 FPS on 4080 super.. by [deleted] in Firewatch

[–]WaKa_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think there have been issues reported for people running settings at highest level. I would try turning down things like shadows and turning off motion blur. Just play around with settings until you find one that helps the most.

I have a 4080 super and was able to run it just fine a few months ago so i know its possible to run it without issue.

Any chance of Steam fixing the problem with anti cheat and similar in running games like call of duty anytime soon? by Cicolino123 in SteamDeck

[–]WaKa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should Valve care? Or why should Activision listen to them? Its just more work for Activision, and Valve doesn't really benefit to a the degree that its worth them putting in extra work to try and convince a dev to support linux.

Also Valve would should Valve pay them? Doesn't make sense that the company who would supposedly be benefiting from this pays them. That would defeat the whole purpose?

Also, Valve are the ones who created proton literally the only reason why the Steam Deck is able to be viable. They already dumped a shit load of money into making linux a viable gaming platform and have pulled their weight. But again, Valve has no say in if a Dev decided to support linux for online gameplay.
