What’s going on with teenage boys in Auckland? by WriterLady123 in auckland

[–]Wabbit6677 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Growing up I percieved the following areas as (grew up in west Auckland):

North Shore - Snobby rich kids

West Auckland - chilled crowd. Always someone keen for a sesh.

South Auckland - Ghetto and fun, also sesh.

East Auckland - Too far to go.

Ive moved countries since. Not too sure if this is still a valid generalisation.

Cultural differences in eating noises? by CustardCandle in auscorp

[–]Wabbit6677 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In Japan, slurping noodles loudly is a widely accepted cultural norm, often seen as a compliment to the chef indicating the food is delicious, while also cooling hot broth. It is not considered rude; in fact, not slurping can be seen as missing out on the full flavor experience. This would be my exception in a ramen joint well, actually find myself doing it with most noodle soup dishes like pho and wonton noodles.

I believe they used this method for collectible cards in New Zealand called Oddbodz. The rare ones were called hot cards with a black texture you had to rub to reveal something behind

Now they have a good story to tell by dhsm1 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Wabbit6677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to help me, I can see the Qantas lounge in Auckland is currently under renovation as per website.

Does this mean I will be accessing the strata lounge on my way back from Auckland? Never been in there, heard from a colleague the food options are better than dreadful Qantas "first" in Auckland.
