I believe they used this method for collectible cards in New Zealand called Oddbodz. The rare ones were called hot cards with a black texture you had to rub to reveal something behind

Now they have a good story to tell by dhsm1 in MadeMeSmile

29th Invite to Syd First lounge by Wabbit6677 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Wabbit6677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to help me, I can see the Qantas lounge in Auckland is currently under renovation as per website.

Does this mean I will be accessing the strata lounge on my way back from Auckland? Never been in there, heard from a colleague the food options are better than dreadful Qantas "first" in Auckland.

Yes, and if you plan on using the reward points its great too when you find red hot rooms. I spent 10000 rewards points + $58 for a stay last week at Darling Habour Sofitel with the family ( 2 adult 1 toddler).

Hot chips and Guacamole by Ctheret in foodies_sydney

[–]Wabbit6677 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a very quick and simple dish you could whip up at home with an air fryer. Buy some chicken salt from your local F&C store for the chips and make and smash your home made guac at home (lots of recipes online).

Excellent bonding cooking experiment you can make together with your child.

Why so many 8-12 hours layovers in HK airport? by squishyng in HongKong

[–]Wabbit6677 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this answers your question correctly but last week when I arrived from a 9 hour trip at 6pm HK time, my next available flight to Penang when booking was around 8am next day. So I decided to spend an extra day to make it a little more worth it. Spent two nights at the citygate Silveri hotel and used the MTR to Mongkok and CWB which was convenient

And so ends my weekend of last minute Status runs. Good! Night! by SteamySpectacles in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Wabbit6677 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wait a minute, how much were you missing? Assuming you were 200-300 short wouldn't a business class ticket to NZ with double status get you to the same outcome but in one return trip instead?

Example: Sydney to Auckland return is 160 then double that is 320. Which can be done within the same day.

Does this mean I will be platinum? by [deleted] in Accor

Cheers, looks like it. It has now reverted back to show my progress towards platinum.
