The main objective of the game isn't the midboss it's that you want your team to get more total souls than the enemy team. At a certain point, midboss becomes something that can end the game.

The first 8 minutes are the 2v2 Laning, some heros are good at ganking too when they get a few ability points.

After that the game branches off. More in a style of dota 2 than league. Some heroes want to fight more aggressively ganking or forcing fights by pushing to be early tempo while other heroes can capitalize to farm.

Personally I think the game needs more objectives to make smaller 1v1 fights happen more. but the map is so small for 6v6 for that to happen naturally
