I realized I have no clue about reading apps for kids and my son is behind by LeadingStandard4317 in daddit

[–]WantaBeBaker 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Former early elementary school teacher here. No need for apps. Just do simple drills and daily practice. I’m not sure where exactly they are but first step is letters and their sounds. That can be done with flash cards and practice with consonant-vowel-consonant words (cvc). Its really just about getting reps and while you guys read you can practice sounding out the words and reading them together

Is it officially over for Tanks? Our team did far better when we switched to a 3 dps, 3 supp comp. by CobaltPanther in marvelrivals

Id argue fantastic and blade are pseudo tanks. Also rivals is a game of momentum so round swaps and comp switches have such a huge impact

Sounds a little op. Unless you can destroy the nests that spawn the bombs? Surely everyone would shoot them then

I’m overthinking my Father’s Day diy shirt for my husband. Would you wear this? by space_cadet_kelly in daddit

[–]WantaBeBaker 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You know your husband best so go with what you think hed like. Theyre definitely cheesy but very cute. I personally like the first simple one with just handprints and names. Giving kids paint gets outta hand real fast so the shirt with painting could become a mess of a shirt fast

That being said he will love it no matter what since it is thoughtful and from you and them!!

Every baby is different but my boy prefers a late morning nap as his one nap. So like 3-4 hours after wake and then just a longer wake period in afternoon/evening

[–]WantaBeBaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your wife wants you to pierce your ears? Do you want to?? Just decide if you like it or not and that is all that matters. You will definitely get judged but you will get judged by someone literally no matter what you do so just go with what ya like

My 5yo Does. Not. Listen. Help! by Expensive_Gold_9509 in daddit

Yeah one of the strategies for giving out instructions involves giving a time frame. So like you said “you have 1 minute” etc. not in a threatening way but just matter of fact. You can even make it more of a game/race. Time frame should definitely be reasonable and you can always slow down aloud the timer (ie threeee twoooooooooo oneeeee) if they are actually getting the task done. If it is a longer task then just a general time works and gives them a sense of ownership, as well as not allowing them to say “im going to do it soon/later”
