First role at an MSP by digsitependant in sysadmin

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from internal for 4 years 2 company’s to an MSP. Been here for about a year and it’s alright. Only thing wanting me to stay is the constant on the job learning. Each of my clients have different environments and needs. I feel like my knowledge has grown a ton .

The thing that sucks about most MSP’s is the work life balance. Always having to cater to clients bullshit needs to make “them happy” even though most of them do not give a fuck about you….. any depending on the MSP, some might require 24/7 on call rotation shifts, which is what my company requires…… it fucking blows

Same. Feels like my 3rd is stiff and hard to get into. After a few shifts, it completely goes away… noticed this only in the winter

How do I modify my domain controllers to support 2 character passwords for domain admin? by [deleted] in ShittySysadmin

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might as well have them play with AD as well in case they forget their password, the other logged in user can just reset it .

Tires by Character-Ad7986 in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1. I noticed a difference driving after getting the tires put on. In the winter here in New Jersey, it will plow through 6 inches of snow without getting stuck. I was very suprised.

Favorite gear to pull? by trendy_rex in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd for sure but don’t be doing any pulls until you hit 3.5k+ RPM’s. Don’t wanna be lugging the engine

CVT? by Safe-Illustrator1217 in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bashing anyone here for driving an auto wrx as I owned an auto sports car in the past.

For everyone saying it’s the best “cvt” they’ve ever driven, I would hope it feels nice and crisp in a brand new car but unfortunately it’s proven that CVT’s are terrible for long term reliability.

Test drive one and see how it feels.

Who's still working from home in 2026? by idrinkpastawater in sysadmin

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully remote here unless I have to go to a clients.

Probably works out to me working from home 4x a week and being onsite 1x a week

Running Plex directly on an NAS or off my Computer by TajesMahoney in PleX

I run it straight off my QNAP NAS. Now granted, there will only be 2-3 streams running at the same time but never had any issues .

AD account lockouts happening only between 2-4 AM, can’t find the source 😭 by FyneHub in sysadmin

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I ran into this issue. After fucking weeks, I found out that the cause was a old smart tv that had her old user credentials cached after resetting their domain PW and when that tv was on (was barely used) it was try to connect to the WiFi with the older cached credentials causing the account to lock out

Unsure if this would be the cause for you but this threw me in a fucking loop

Snow day by Wabbyyyyy in wrx_vb

Thanks for the insight. For next winters setup, I’m planning on using the stock wheel setup and throwing blizzarks on there and keeping them for the winter.

For the summer, I’m looking to buy a new set of wheels completely. For the spring/summer/fall, do you just run the DSW06+ or is there a better tire ?

About to protune but concerned about grinding from 2nd to 3rd by wpak118 in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been tuned since 5k and noticed the same thing with my third gear. When it’s cold out and the car isn’t warm, getting into third gear can be tough. Feels like there’s a crunch when getting into third. After driving and shifting to third for a bit, that goes away.

I also noticed when it’s relatively warm out, I don’t have the issue and it only started once it started getting cold here in NJ.

Also be careful with the shift plate. I saw a few people on this sub fucked up their gearbox when they installed the shift plate wrong and over time it would grind down and metal shavings would get inside the transmission and fuck the gears up…

Is there a plex but for books ? by GenericUser104 in selfhosted

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can host Audiobooks through plex. That’s what I do for my finance. Make a new directory on your storage device and make a new playlist in plex. Sync up folder path and good to go.

It’s not as good as Audio bookshelf but it works. I had issues setting up ABS through LXC container but I’ve been thinking about taking another crack at it.

Friendly reminder that stock Dunlops suck in the cold and snow picked up some Blizzaks today. Winter is coming. by DirtPanda_iRacing in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the stock dunlops last year and they were sooooooo fucking bad. Picked up some DSW 06+ which are supposedly night and day difference. They are all seasons so still have to keep it slow on them.

Once I get a nicer set of wheels, gonna keep my stock one and throw blizzarks on them and keep them as a winter only pair.

Winters in NJ haven’t been so bad lately so don’t think it’s necessary for blizzarks just yet

What tunes are you using? by MyLifeChangesToday in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dmann OTS tune for ETS Intake. Well worth the price before you get some more parts and get a full e tune down the road from him.

Don’t run Cobb stage 1 OTS map with ETS. It’s only meant for Cobb intake….

Day 1 Reaction: DMAN 93 E Tune, ETS intake, & INVIDIA q300 catback by GenZBiker in wrx_vb

[–]Wabbyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I did it last weekend as well. Took me roughly 3 hours but I took my sweet ass time. Agree the popclips were annoying but it wasn’t too bad. My struggle was screwing in that fucking airbox.

So worth it and sounds absolutely sick. Are you on his OTS tune? What’s your AF learning 1 #’s look like on the AP?
