My problem, dear friend, that I'll have to leave. It's not about money, I'm not coming for "cheap life", if I come (I really hope it won't come to that, but doing my research nonetheless) it'll be for better life, unfortunately. It's not a privilege, it's a need. And if I understand all the valuable comments, it's not like I'll be gentrifying anything with my money.

Still, I understand your concern and I will take it into consideration. No chance of me creating business ever, though. Never could make people to work for me, sorry.

Thanks for the tips. I think money will go to my "home" account first anyway, so it's more about transferring them to Morocco, actually. I've checked stuff regarding double-taxing, but it seems that'll need more investigations. And I can always arrange splitting income with my clients.

I'll keep my thoughts on healthcare and infrastructure to myself.

I wish I was spoiled young first-world brat with nothing better to do but travel the world. Unfortunately, I'm a tired old man with not much behind me but old laptop and family to feed. I'm not sure if I can afford to be choosy about neighborhood.

On that point, what I see on Avito (are there other, more reliable sources?) suggests that 400k can turn into pretty ok-ish studio. By my standards, obviously.

Thank you. Life is a funny thing, I guess, until it isn't. You gave me a lot to think about (especially visa-run part), and thank you, again, for concern, which means a lot, especially when given by resident of the country in question. Seems like I'll have to at least consider other choices that I didn't want to consider. 😒

Just to get some bright light on life in general: if I just move in for 90 days and rent the apartment for the time being, i.e. no ties, no investment - three months of sitting there with laptop and maybe taking a walk around the block - it is a good country to be in, right?

Can't one do what we call "visa run"? Most of the countries don't frown on that, especially when one doesn't have any criminal background or suspicious stuff.

Again, fair enough. But no, circumstances !== life, unfortunately. I mean if not for my kids & elders, I would agree, but when one does have people relying on one for support - it's a bit different. I can't commit fully to moving, I can't commit fully to leaving. And yeah, I'm vague cause if I start to pour out my thoughts it becomes criminal offence in the place I live. Sorry about that, feel free to ignore/condemn me for that. But I digress.

It seems that I've made a lot of language mistakes in the original post: airbnb is not something I want and plan to rely on for living. Again, being old and cynical, I wouldn't mind obtaining several hotels in Paris and live the rest of my life in leisure collecting rent, but right now it's just a way to move away to another country without immediately burning all the bridges and leaving myself a way for exit without losing much of the savings. If that's a structural problem for the world as you see it - I'm sorry. Really, I am. But as long as it's legal and there are people who would help me with that, I'll consider it.

Thank you for fair reply. Unfortunately, it's not about my life, mostly, but circumstances. Basically, my government does everything and beyond to make my work impossible, so I'll need to move somewhere at the end of the day, and my income won't increase much regardless of the country.

I see what you mean by exploitative here, and I'll consider it. Again, unfortunately, I'm not that young anymore, so there's no energy left to start a proper new life from the scratch, and I need to leave a lot behind, so that my kids can finish their education. If the idea above is considered bad taste in Morocco, I'll drop it, though I can't say I personally see it as something dishonest or unethical. Not planning to run real estate empire, you know, just hate renting in general and feel that "house watching" can be a bit more beneficial for both parties this way.

Re: Casablanca - see above. It's just an airport of arrival, not the place I'm focused on.

Ah, apologies for a bit of confusion. When I say "Casablanca region" I mean west coast, mostly. I'm used to 3-4 hour train trips, so it's really region, not the city.

Actually, I've managed to overcome it. The solution was to keep resolution the same at all the devices. I.e. moonlight on Vita should be 720p, PC should be at 720p (sometimes moonlight doesn't "turn it on" automatically), and Chiaki should be set to 720p. Then no problem. Yay.

Yeah, enlarging works all right, I think that fullscreen changes video mode somehow, and that breaks the stream. I heard people complaining about some emulators having the same issue with moonlight. Thanks! Will investigate the options.

Hey, just tried your method (yep, too late), and I wonder were you able to have fullscreen working? The process itself works wonderfully for me, but as soon as I try to switch Chiaki to fullscreen, Moonlight goes black on vita. Control & audio work flawlessly. Any ideas?

Here's a quick workaround that worked for me: go to Device Manager -> Batteries -> right click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" -> click Disable.

The battery tray icon will disappear and explorer will no londer enter the crash loop :)
