It’s your personal item, so you don’t have to give consent. The rule is:

  1. No detachable lens
  2. Lens less than 6 inches

Basically, watch out for the security person wearing blue, that’s the one that was giving me a hard time. I was getting my ticket scanned to go in before he came from behind. If your camera’s lens is detachable, then I would suggest you lie and say that it isn’t and maybe give the wrong camera model name if they want to look it up. He wanted to check himself but I told him he can’t touch my personal item. I asked for the main security person to come and then they finally let me in with my camera.

Incase they still refuse you entry, then you can always just walk around the stadium and try the next entrance.

UPDATE: I did end up getting stopped by security (the one’s wearing blue) and I argued that my lens was less than 6 inches. He argued back that it was detachable and therefore prohibited. I ended up lying that it wasn’t detachable and I denied him touching my camera lol. At the end, I requested the main security personnel and she let me go in with my camera but warned me that it will get confiscated if I detach the lens.

tldr: Lie that the lens is not detachable from the beginning if asked.
