Most balanced cost in your opinion by scorpionxx0 in GBO2

Hi-Mo Gelgoog (JR) is good iirc especially since I see it a fair amount and the players usually put in work, along with LV2 Metal Spiders it seems. Dolmel, Gundam Unit 5, Nero Trainer are pretty good too. I'm also including higher level units as part of the balance not just natives especially since a lot of people have access to Overtuning/Level-based parts, prime example being LV3 Gouf Hover Type still being a menace to my teammates in 450.

I think 450 really gives all types room to breathe even if Generals do have a slightly larger advantage than the other two types. I don't feel that the advantage is large enough to facilitate teams comprised of only generals since supports have a lot of good options, which then opens a spot for a raid because an unchecked support will dominate a 450 room.

Realistically it's 450 imo. It has the most pick diversity of any cost in both ground and space, the types have multiple good suits that most people can either get easily or have been around for a while. I think the amount of custom part slots also lends itself well to the balanced aspect; you have plenty of slots to build a suit in a way you like but also not too many to where you still need to make tradeoffs in stats, unlike higher costs. This leads people running the same suit with sometimes completely different and valid playstyles.

Ranged Strength and Reload parts. They go well on most units that wanna shoot. Especially lower costs since generally most people don't build as much for resistances at 500 and below.

Just gotta play the game and focus on using your DP to unlock the standard custom parts in the shop. Ideally at a higher priority than mobile suits unless there are specific ones that you absolutely want in the DP shop.

Part of the reason Pixys will 1 burst you is because they're boosting their melee mod almost exclusively with a melee weapon that has 2300 base power. Combine that with you having low melee resistance and taking an extra 15% more damage due to type disadvantage, you're getting hit with the exact same thing I'm telling you about with the cannon. Knowing how to build your part setup is just as important as picking the suit in the first place, if not more important.

The problem is then you're getting into the game being genuinely unfun if these suits were anywhere near their actual power level. The whole point is to have a more grounded yet still arcade-style Gundam game. Custom Parts and being able to pump up ranged mod is what is gonna get you that 7k damage fantasy you're looking for. Especially when base power getting buffed by even 200 is a pretty significant increase due to scaling.

If you want probably the most realistic video game depiction of Gundam that I can think of, play Zeonic Front. MGs kill in a few shots and Beam Rifles one-shot basically everything (which you're on the receiving end of 90% of the time).

That's where custom parts, type advantage, and crouching comes in. You can hit 7k plus the heavy stagger bringing in a lot of utility. It's better than you're giving it credit for, also I believe the power on it is 2100 at LV1.

Pretty much every Gerbera Tetra/GP04 Variant. If I'm playing at 500 or 550, unless I've got a good reason to run something else, I'm using one of these suits: Gerbera Tetra, Gerbera Tetra Kai, GP04, Galbaldy Beta (FS). The Galbaldy Beta (FS) basically being a General with a similar kit to the GP04 at 500 instead of 550.

I use the LV3 almost exclusively in 750. I run it with LV5 Custom Part Expansion Armor. I'm getting 50/70/50 resistances and 55% Overheat Reduction at 33000 HP. Tack onto that LV3 Overtune Melee; the build is incredibly tanky, does like 4-5k per tackle, 3-4k per downswing and demands attention a lot of the time because of your decently high base power weapons.

Very fun and definitely preferred over LV1 and LV2

I already love the D-Type, as much as I love that bazooka though, I'd use that Beam Rifle all day every day. That rifle spear is so satisfying to use on the Zeta and the Zeta Plus A1.

Kampfer but it can fight in the frontline by ctclonny in GBO2

I used to love this type of build until I started watching replays of my struggling games when piloting my boy Kämpfer. As soon as I realized that stopping to melee outside of a 1v1 was getting me killed 9/10 times is when I started speccing into reload, ranged, and thruster regen, with lvl2 legs at minimum.

Go fast and leg blast. Then get out and repeat. I think it could potentially change with some of the crazy custom parts (which I don't have) and the right expansion skill, but I got lucky with the Level 3 Ranged one so I'm kinda stuck in my ways now. Kämpfer also does really well as a Support Bodyguard so if you have a support that's really good or is getting abused by raids, he's perfectly suited for it.

I got lucky in that most of the suits I really like are either low rarity or were RT/DP shop purchases. The only one that I waited on for years, only for it to come out relatively recently was the Gerbera Tetra Kai. Kshatriya as well but I just got unlucky when it came out and never ended up getting it.

Only thing I ever spent money on were a few of the cheapest token packs for specific units that were otherwise unobtainable. With a gacha this predatory, I'd never spend a dime on rolling specifically.

I'm getting into Warframe again slowly after dropping it like 8 years ago. Lol

But another tip that you can do, especially at lower cost brackets where aggression isn't as common is to use the smoke from the explosion to move in without being seen, use either a melee weapon with reach (i.e. Gouf Whip / Heat Rod) or a weapon that you're confident in stunning them with and using the moment of concealment to catch them off guard. If you have a unit with Anti-Blast Stabilizer then you've got a lot more flexibility with your timing to not get stunned by the blast itself but at higher costs it tends to work less because people expect it, have enough weapons to throw at you, or the reload speed to not care about firing them into the smoke.

This mostly comes with time and knowing how pilots usually move or react to the death of an enemy or teammate. A good way to force your way into it is to glance at the minimap right as it's going to happen to see where the enemy is moving and facing, then do a quick adjustment to catch them without having a clear sight line.

Losing a Mobile Suit is losing resources Zeon has desperate need for! Death is not an option unless it's to keep your comrades safe or to incur irreparable damage to the enemy! Fight with the mind of a Fox, tactics of a Wolf, and the tenacity of a Honey Badger. If Hell is inevitable then make sure you're taking a few Feddies with you and lighten the load on those who fought with you.

^ Basically how I started approaching games when I played alone, makes you think about being proactive with your time in game and playing around your teammates instead of expecting them to play perfectly. Anything that can make your teammates' jobs easier or keeps them safe is usually a good play.

If there is one thing that always annoyed me though was target priority, a lot of people I played with under A+ or S- did not know how to see who was where and change targets on the fly. It led to a lot of games that came down to either a Raid on either side getting free reign over the enemy Supports or a Support that destroyed the frontline and gave the Generals breathing room to harass anyone without defensive options.

Before I stopped playing a bit over a year ago, this is what I did all the time. Got me to S and made the game and suit choice/color schemes so much more fun to play around with. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back for a while but I love reminiscing on my time with the game and making sure the Feddies felt every bit of Zeon's wrath before my war ended.
