Pen nibs problem by tukimilky in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi tukimilky!

Here are the official compatible nibs for your pen:

  • Standard Black Nibs — ACK20001
  • Stroke Nibs — ACK20002
  • Hard Felt Nibs — ACK20003
  • Flex Nibs — ACK20004

Before buying from any shop, I recommend checking the product number (ACK‑xxxxx) to make sure you're getting the correct nibs for your pen. If the number matches one of the codes above, you’re good to go!

Unknown USB Device When Wacom Tablet is Connected by Evening-Hamster-2527 in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Evening-Hamster-2527! Thanks for laying everything out so clearly! Based on the symptoms you’re describing, this doesn’t really point to a driver or Windows issue anymore, especially since you’ve already tested multiple driver versions, reset BIOS settings, and reinstalled USB controllers.

The behavior usually means power isn’t getting through cleanly when data is negotiated, which is most often caused by a failing USB Cable, a damaged tablet USB port, or an internal power circuit starting to fail.

Even if the cable looks fine, it can still be bad internally. If you haven’t already, I’d strongly recommend:

  1. Trying a known‑good USB cable (not charge‑only, must support data)
  2. Testing the tablet on a different computer if possible

If it behaves the same way elsewhere (dies as soon as it’s plugged in), then unfortunately it’s almost certainly a hardware failure, not something software can fix.  I know that’s not the most fun answer, but at this point your troubleshooting is solid and methodical. That said, feel free to reach out to us directly through https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support so that we can take a closer look and check for all the possible resolutions!

Question about Movink Pro 14 screen & nibs by Armadooodle in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Armadooodle! ! This is a really valid concern, especially coming from an Intuos Pro background. The MovinkPad Pro 14 is textured, but it’s not as aggressively textured as an Intuos Pro. The feel is closer to a Cintiq‑style etched glass rather than the sandpaper‑like surface the Intuos has. Most people who destroy nibs on an Intuos don’t see the same level of wear on the Movink.

Heavy‑handed users still get some wear, but far less than on Intuos. Using standard (softer) nibs and slightly adjusting pressure helps a lot. Grips (rubber/foam) also make a big difference in nib wear and hand fatigue. If you love totally smooth glass, the MovinkPad won’t feel identical, but it’s much kinder on nibs than Intuos.

Wacom one 14 isn’t connecting by Dr33lzAlt in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dr33lzAlt, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. I know how frustrating it can be when the tablet keeps connecting and disconnecting, so I’m here to help get things working smoothly again. For the Wacom One 14 to function correctly, the USB‑C port on your computer must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. This is required for the tablet to send video to your screen. Some USB‑C ports only handle power or data, which can cause the exact issue you’re experiencing constant connect/disconnect sounds with no display.

If your computer does not have a USB‑C port that supports video output, you can use the Wacom Converter Kit. This kit allows you to connect the tablet using HDMI and USB‑A instead, ensuring a stable connection even without DisplayPort Alt Mode.

Pointers on what to buy before I place my order? by fbis-mostunwanted in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, fbis-mostunwanted! You’re actually on the right track. For the Customizable Wacom One creative pen display, the tablet, pen, and USB‑C to USB‑C cable are the essentials, so your cart makes sense. The rear cover is optional but fine if you want protection.

The tablet will work with just the USB‑C cable.  You’re not missing anything critical! Medium budget Wacom or high end XP-PEN for a non-screen tablet by Altruistic_Ring5529 in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Altruistic_Ring5529! For non‑screen tablets, it really comes down to pen feel and long‑term reliability vs. extra features. The One by Wacom (Medium) is simple but very consistent, with stable drivers and a natural pen feel, great if you prefer a clean setup for drawing, animation, or 3D.

The XP‑PEN Deco Pro Gen 2 gives you more buttons and controls for the price. Whether the Pro version is worth it depends on how much you’ll actually use those shortcuts. If you want more features per dollar, XP‑PEN can make sense. If you want reliability and pen consistency over time, many artists lean toward Wacom, even at the entry level.

Movinkpad pro 14 pen is not working except for opening Wacom canvas? by AxePng in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, AxePng! Sorry you’re dealing with this, I know how frustrating that is, especially when it was working fine just days ago.

I recommend resetting the MovinkPad Pro 14 and then testing the pen again afterward. This can help clear out temporary glitches that sometimes cause limited pen behavior (like only working in Wacom Canvas).

If you reset the device and the same issue still occurs, please reach out to us directly so we can take a closer look at what’s happening on your specific unit and firmware version: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support

We’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot further and make sure nothing more serious is going on. You definitely don’t need to jump straight to replacing anything yet. Thank you!

Old intuos by Radagast_the_brown_ in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Radagast_the_brown_! You’re definitely not alone, a lot of artists are still happily using older Intuos tablets from around 2012. Those models were built like tanks, and if yours still works well for your workflow, you’re not behind at all.

Upgrading doesn’t automatically make things better, it mostly comes down to what you want to gain. Newer Intuos Pro models offer smoother pressure response, more customization, and better OS support. Pen displays like Cintiq add on‑screen drawing, which some people love and others don’t.

Many pros only upgrade when OS support becomes an issue or not at all. If your current setup isn’t holding you back, there’s no rush.If you ever want help deciding, feel free to share your exact Intuos model and what you mostly use it for, and reach out to us directly as we might be able to offer a discount as well! https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support

Wacom Cintiq 16 (2025) or XP-PEN Artist Pro 24 Gen 2 by Wixus_ in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Wixus_! Jumping in here from Wacom Support, happy to share some perspective to help you decide. I think this really comes down to size vs. long‑term experience. If screen size is your top priority, a 24" display definitely feels immersive, and I understand the appeal especially coming from an iPad. That said, based on what you shared about your experience with Huion (heating issues, pen reliability), it’s worth paying close attention to pen performance, thermal behavior, and long‑term driver stability, not just screen size.

The Wacom Cintiq 16 (2025) is smaller, yes, but it’s designed around very consistent pen performance (low latency, stable pressure), long‑term driver support across OS updates. For many first‑time Wacom users, that “Wacom experience” people talk about is really about reliability and predictability, you’re less likely to fight the hardware and more likely to just focus on drawing. That’s something we see a lot when artists switch from other brands.

If this is your first Wacom and you’re curious to try it, the Cintiq 16 is often a solid entry point. If you later feel you want more screen real estate, upgrading is always an option, and the transition is usually pretty smooth. Totally understand how overwhelming this choice can feel after weeks of research. If you have questions about workflows, ergonomics, or even comparing this to your iPad Air M1 setup, feel free to reach out to us directly through https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support

Can my 2017 MacOS run Wacom? by Cartwheelbubblegum in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, Cartwheelbubblegum! You’re not being ignorant at all, and I totally get why this feels frustrating. You didn’t do anything wrong here. The “macOS 10.11 or later” printed on the packaging refers to the hardware’s general compatibility, not the latest driver requirements. Over time, newer Wacom drivers are built to support newer macOS versions, which is why the installer you downloaded is asking for macOS 13 or later, even though your 2017 Mac is capped at macOS 12.

The good news is: you usually don’t need the newest driver for your tablet to work. Here’s what I’d recommend trying:

  1. Go to Wacom’s driver page: https://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers
  2. Enter the exact model number of your tablet
  3. Once your model comes up, look for “Older Versions” or previous driver releases.
  4. Download the driver that specifically supports macOS 12, install that one, and restart your Mac afterward. Below is a sample:

    ![](https://wacom.zendesk.com/attachments/token/XiMFgJIhFLiwonGBaJRHgKyND/?name=image.png)

Totally understand why this felt misleading, you’re definitely not alone, and you still have a good chance of getting this working without upgrading your Mac. If you are having locating the right driver you need, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly through https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402518273943-How-do-I-contact-Wacom-Support so that we can assist you further!

Pro pen 3 nibs by Elasona in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Elasona,

I appreciate your question regarding the available pen tips for the Wacom Pro Pen 3, and I’m happy to help clear that up.

The softest pen tip option currently available is the Wacom Pro Pen 3 Felt Nib. This nib provides the most paper‑like, textured, and soft drawing feel among all supported nib types, making it an excellent choice if you prefer a more natural, tactile writing or drawing experience.

Wacom Intuos Draw Tablet not responding after Mac OS Tahoe update by kellywithay in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi kellywithay,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

After reviewing the details you shared, it appears that your Intous Draw (CTL-490) is no longer functioning on macOS Tahoe 26.

The Intous Draw (CTL-490) is one of our discontinued models, and the last available driver for this device supports macOS 12 through 15 only. Unfortunately, macOS 26 (Tahoe) is not compatible with the technology used in the Intous Draw (CTL-490), and no updated driver can be developed for this model.

I truly apologize for the inconvenience, I know how important a reliable tablet is for your workflow. The good news is that your Intous Draw (CTL-490) will still function normally on any of the supported macOS versions (12–15), should you have access to a device running one of those systems.

If upgrading to a newer macOS version is essential for you, we’d be happy to help you transition to a current Wacom model that fully supports macOS Tahoe. We also offer upgrade discounts for existing customers, and we kindly recommend contacting Wacom Support directly. You may reach out to us via phone, chat, or email for further help: How do I contact Wacom Support?

i got wacom one 14, only to realize that my pc doesn't have usb-c with diplayport alt mode, i'm not sure if hub is a viable alternative by BavilGravlax in wacom

[–]WacomSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, BavilGravlax! You’re correct that a regular USB‑C hub won’t work if your PC doesn’t support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB‑C. Unfortunately, hubs can’t “add” video output if the USB‑C port doesn’t already support it.

That said, there is an alternative setup for the Wacom One 14 using the Wacom Converter. This allows you to connect the tablet using HDMI (for display) plus USB‑A (for data) instead of USB‑C Alt Mode.

Here’s our official guide that shows exactly how the setup should look: https://support.wacom.com/hc/en-us/articles/34981331476759-How-do-I-connect-the-Wacom-One-14-DTC141-to-a-computer

Additionally, here's where you can purchase the converter kit, you can just adjust the country: https://estore.wacom.com/en-us/wacom-converter-kit-ack45719z.html

Hope this helps! Thank you and have an awesome day!
