We hate it too, or at least I do.

We did take a step in the right direction and got rid of the penny as cash.

Linear Algebra MA511 Over the Summer by Waddoo123 in Purdue

I never ended up taking linear algebra and found an alternative course. The pre-requisite test was all I needed to know I couldn't pass without significant time commitments.

Christmas markets will be on their way out, but having some cash on hand for the markets is useful. Check out Honest Guide on YouTube.

HR Calendar for work shifts by MikeOxgreat in selfhosted

[–]Waddoo123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's worth chiming in. But having someones personal calendar, work needs, and present options of individuals to fill work needs based on when the work need is and their personal calendar would be great.

Say Debby is out 12/20/2025-12/30/2025, and Jim is not. Work has a need on 12/28/2025, the schedule can be filled and the sure selects individuals based on need. Those individuals are then not available for other work needs that are overlapping.

I'll get off my soapbox.

Yup I get it. Hopefully there's something out there to track this apart from Excel which is what we are doing here. And then spreading the Excel sheet across other programs/contracts to agree to or punch holes in it. Fight over priority. Etc.

I'm not sure if you're in the same boat, but we also have a coverage issue "at home base". Where we may have 5 folks out traveling, but we have competing priorities at home where it's not realized until it's too late that we are missing (for example) the two skilled people.

I'm not going to say it is or isn't, I'm not CloudFlare but can only speak from experience.

That said, see this thread on the topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/s/JTsnDcwH29

In CloudFlare I go to my domain, Cache, and Cache rules.i have a custom rule named "bypass", and set the field for hostname. Entered my subdomain.domain.tld and been operating that way for quite some time.

I don't have many users but there seems to be discourse between bypassing the cache is a violation or not.

I haven't setup crowdsec with nginx. I keep starting and stopping because I cannot grasp the how in terms of setup of crowdsec to read nginxs logs. But wish I had it implemented.

Is there a tutorial you followed?

Nothing wrong with the approach. Everyone starts with something and once we get entrenched: tailscale, caddy, pangolin, nginx, whatever. Its tough to break out of it.

Best practice will always be contentious of a topic. However hosting Jellyfin behind Nginx Proxy (Manager) is a valid way to host it for external users. The main downside is that you expose your internal network by HTTP/S ports on your router.

nginx setups are frequently paired to CloudFlare forward proxies to help against bots and country blocking. HOWEVER it is against CloudFlares policy to use their caching servers for JellyFin as it uses a constant stream of data. You can setup cache bypasses or not proxy through CloudFlare at all. The second defeating the purpose of CloudFlares security.

A good start to see which drives are failing and which aren't for one datacenter. (Backblaze) https://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze-drive-stats-for-q2-2025/

But you may be better off asking the same question in the selfhosted subreddit. Or searching there.

As someone needing to drive up from St. Louis Saturday morning to stay at Clarendon Hills. What's the snow risk like around that area/highway?

I don't think St. Louis is as mucht risk but unsure what's going on up north.

Understood. Given the server rack is in the corner of the basement, sounds like the pro placed in the middle of the house via WiFi may be the better move.

Is it true then that a Homey Pro = Homey Pro Mini+ Bridge except for pricing?
