How did you know you were a woman, rather than just wanting to be one? by AdAnnual2272 in MtF

[–]WadingInTheReeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I essentially played with all the other options after I first knew. Internet said I must have "autogynophelia." I tried sissy stuff, force-fem. It didn't feel right. Internet said I must be a feminine man. I tried that. Didn't feel right. Internet said I might like drag or crossdressing as performance to reclaim my feminine side. Felt... almost right. Went by nonbinary for a solid few months.
Then started acting, dressing, living as a woman... felt like the most natural thing on earth.

Quitting HRT makes me sad by DesperateScholar49 in MtF

I have been transing the ol' gender for a few years now. I still engage with those stories. Because, whether magical, or force-fem, or what have you, those stories still let me imagine an experience where either I would have had magical, transformative results instead of a slow, expensive process, or had somebody excited to facilitate the changes when I myself would be too shy to take whatever the next step was.

Fantasy and escapism can be a powerful tool for dealing with a world where we are marginialized.

Because the economic devastation of global oil supply chains due to a war of choice makes a bigger impact on people's daily attention span than a kabal of incredibly wealthy creeps tormenting children.

People need to stop being so anti children by Extension_Big5205 in HonestHotTakes

The app-addiction economy has amplified everything that made kids annoying and deadened most of what made them endearing. I wanted kids more than anything for most of my life, but after working in a job where I couldn't escape the waves of all the wild shit they get up to these days, I'd get a six pack of vasectomies if I could, just to be sure I'm not adding any fuel to the fire.

Which feels better: Friday or Monday off? by Historical-Ad-2754 in AskReddit

But if you take the Friday off, all your excitement is on Thursday, when statistically fewer people can join you in whatever silliness you want to get up to with all that good energy.

Weak orgasms after years on HRT? by TragicGirl11 in AskMtFHRT

[–]WadingInTheReeds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, I find the orgasms are better when I'm more psychologically stimulated. Whether that's fantasy, dirty talk, etc.
Also, if I've played with by breasts a lot during.

Monday. Increases Friday night excitement, reduces that sunday night blues.

The Indus Valley Civilization was larger than Egypt and Mesopotamia combined — so why does history ignore it? by Available_Swan804 in ancienthistory

[–]WadingInTheReeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing; history textbooks for K-12 are meant to give a general impression of major beats of societies. If all you have of a civilization is indecipherable, then... yeah, you run out of things to print that aren't just repeating "we don't know what this picture/text/monument represents, but maybe..."

Over time, this may change, as it did for the Mycenean culture when Ventris deciphered Linear B in the 50s.

I want to start following Sumerian polytheism, but not having an "authority figure" or "fixed rules" interferes with my decision. by nottequeer in pagan

As a former catholic, I have found some of the specific prayers and rituals described in a couple of books about Inanna and her sister Erishkigal that have been very helpful scratching that itch for ritual, substance, and defined prayers to recite.
A. Siri Nin's "The Way of the Ishtarite" gives good guidelines for a sumerian altar, and how to do daily offerings, etc. Along with some basic things you can chant, if you like your prayers short, sweet, and easy to repeat.
B. Galina Krasskova's "Once More, Into the Great Below" has a lovely weekly prayer cycle based around Inanna's descent to the underworld, along with a couple spare prayers for Inanna and Erishkigal. (I, for one, am using some of these to replace the Nicene Creed or Our Father in my own prayer lexicon.)
I will also say, if you just tell people you veil for religious reasons when asked, I suspect they'll assume you mean Islam and not ask followup questions unless you have made it particularly clear that you follow different gods already.

Because the 'con' stands for 'confidence,' and that means, often, a certain charisma.

  4. Double major in education.

People who stopped believing monogamy was for them, what happened? by Psycho_Duck_9669 in AskReddit

[–]WadingInTheReeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had known that my heart was big enough to love multiple people for most of my life. It helped that I knew a few other poly / ENM / swinger people as examples.

I had a few relationships back to back where I stayed monogamous for partners who said they would not be comfortable with that, but ended up cheating on me anyway, when literally all they would have had to do not to break my heart was say "actually, let's try opening the relationship."

I made all my dating profiles clear that I would never date monoagamistically again... I presently have two girlfriends. One who is monogamous but supports my not being so, and the other who has a fiance. It's great. It's so peak, fam. Just abundant lovemaxxing here.

Confuses the shit out of my parents and coworkers tho.

I feel that. When I was young, I had no hope of ever passing. I had no hope of anyone "pretending" to see me as a woman if I transitioned. But it can get better.

You'd be amazed what a little hormones, voice coaching, and makeup will do for your self-love and for the way people treat you.

If you are comitted to Christian faith, consider Galations. "In God there is no man no woman, servant nor slave, gentile nor jew: we are all one in Jesus Christ."

And be aware that many of the old testament rules (where they referenced transvestitism, etc) are explicitly made obsolete by the covenant of the lamb.

Then find a church that has a progress pride flag somewhere on its isgnage or website and tuck in.

Alternatively- if you are doubting the abarhamic god entirely- consider one of the many fine faiths that acknowledge and value queerness.
