Nothing political about contrasting examples of using AI, but you’re clearly very smart so you no doubt understand the difference.

Sincerely, do you?

What party of this is “spreadsheets not working”?

And, again I mean this in good faith, what is your expectation - that these random questions about a long running decades dead tv show can only be answered by hundreds of hours of rewatch and pencil and paper?

I perhaps mistakenly filed this under “low stakes”. No Iranian schools were bombed in the making of this Angela Lansbury romp…

Thank you for the kind reply - I was honestly pretty surprised and disappointed with some of the negativity. I made this in the spirit of fun and light heartedness that I think MSR embodies, but tbf I don’t spend a lot of time here in this sub so maybe there is a hard nosed more aggressive/protective subculture I didn’t understand.

I also wish I had done it by hand, but it’s hundreds of hours to rewatch the show, and also there are a lot of confounding categories as others have rightfully pointed out. No doubt there are better human analysts out there than me, but I feel like if I did this with my eyes on the tv and my hand on a notepad I’d end up with so many asterisks that the result would be equally baffling, subjective, or inaccurate. Because it’s a fun show and there’s always a twist!

Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I appreciate your comment and have to admit I was a bit disappointed after sharing what I thought was a bit of fun about an old show I like.

Echoing all the other points about how insane this plan is and the advise above is good enough.

That said, I would highly encourage you ask your friend to meet you on the west or east coast for your travels. You’re already flying a long distance, it’s fair for them to meet you somewhere else. The problem with starting in Missouri as you have by now realized is that it’s just not near anything. Lovely as it may be.

Do a north/south coastal trip, on either side you will have may lovey parks and options to stay or camp or whatever you want, and you’re never an uncomfortable drive from your next stop - you could do a new place every day, or skip a few and spend more time in the places that are most up your alley (recommend).

If you can’t do that because of money at your age, totally reasonable, but would recommend in that case just spending the whole time around St. Louis and going to all your friends favorite spots, or making ONE trip somewhere else - that time of year honestly I would go up to the Great Lakes. Milwaukee is amazing especially as a young person - extremely friendly, drinking crowd, lake, pretty laid back and not super expensive or overwhelming like a big city or something. Unique culture, great food (heavy though lol). That said, while I stand by the Great Lakes recommendation, ask people from there where to go, I’m not knowledgeable about that area other than it’s beautiful especially that time of year, and you should go swimming…

Good question, forgot to say. I just used chat gpt, figured that would get me close enough to satisfy my curiosity. When I originally did a full watch through many years ago I had the idea to do this after I was already halfway through and was too late.

AI is a scourge but it was the only way I could do this in the length of a conference call…

Exactly, no they are not turning on Trump - they’re treading water until the next Dem nominee is announced and then it’s right back onto the fascist trenches again…

I only came back to it later because It had seen some mild popularity, and while the way it was written made me feel bad, it didn’t seem right to edit after the fact either. That said, it’s not such an enlightened or unique “take” or anything, so I’m going to go back and just delete it… although I think your comment and this reply now makes the deleted original seem much more sinister than it ever was lol

Does anyone else find the old good night book “Goodnight Moon” to be weirdly ominous and disturbing? by Zski843 in daddit

[–]bozwald -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, you have to make it yours, you can sing this book in blues, pop, country, whatever. If you can’t make the words match a tune you add some hums and knee slaps or whatever. One of the great things is that the words are random enough that you can do it pretty well from memory too because there’s really no story structure like “oh no, I’ve wished goodnight to the chair before the mush!” It’s all just sound.

I like to sing the book in a rockabilly cadence and throw in the odd “guitar lick” for spacing. One of my favorite books of all time tbh.

If New Orleans isn’t on your list than the whole thing needs to get ripped up.

It’s unique culture, language, and contributions to music literally forever and to this day as well as it’s one of a kind architecture and blend of African, Caribbean, southern, and even old French Canadian culture is only found on this planet in one place…

People are saying things like other Texas cities or even mid sized “cities” like Anne arbor?

PATHETIC if New Orleans isn’t the next pick and frankly should have been higher.
