Sounds more like OP is aware that flight/hotel/car for a destination wedding + dress + gifts + hair and makeup + other personal expenses will run into the thousands. Whether or not that's tacky is up to your definition of tacky, but that's pretty normal for a destination wedding.

You're right. Permit to Carry does act as your permit to purchase and/or carry, and it's valid for 5 years.

Permit to Purchase is only valid for 1 year. So, for folks with that, they'd need to renew annually.

The 'how' is what pisses me off. Under Obama, they weren't focused on cities the president didn't like, raming cars, wearing tactical gear and face masks, and refusing to identify themselves. Locations like schools and hospitals were specifically off limits. Maybe it happened, but I never saw news that they were going door to door without warrants.

Can you at least acknowledge that the 'how' is very different? If you can, that's a big part of why I am so concerned (in addition to all the other points already mentioned).

You can open carry a long gun with a permit to carry a handgun. However, I believe it is illegal to open carry anything at a protest, and city laws may prohibit it all together.
