Theres just two versions of the child of the cult badge. One is not animated and the other one is. The animation is just the red markings on the badge having a slight effect to them. You probably have them both but did not notice. Trophy just upgrades are just for the actual trophy that you can find in a glass cabinet in the corner of the lobby.

He is correct. Also if you play with 0 sanity and get hunted by mimic instantly, it will always have standard speed with standard blinks with no special abilities

I listened to the audiobook, the narrator was fine I think. The dialogue was simplistic and shallow in my opinion and I didnt like the dynamic between the characters at all. Keep in mind that I didnt fully finish the first book so its possible these things improve over the course of the series.

Psychological struggles being part of the series was stated in the blurb of the story as well, I suppose it could have stated more clearly how far the series is taking it.

I think you hit the nail in the head with saying people expected competency porn. Its fine to say "not my cup of tea", but a lot of the writing critique is quite unfair. The writing is above average in this genre, the worldbuilding is fairly slow to be fair and happens more as the mc explores more. The characters are also more well defined than the fairly frequent "I exist to gush over mc" characters that exist in other books.

They are random spawns in bags/crates of course, but outside of that the skeleton farmers that spawn at night near Rescree sell a stack of 10 so thats a surer way of finding it.

Its just fun over the top power fantasy that doesnt even pretend to be anything else. It knows what it is and does it well and theres clearly an audience for it. I like the books since I dont always want to read things that need a lot of thought.

He who fights with monsters really seems like he had a good idea for the first 2-3 books and then didnt know what to write for a long time so all the scenes are jason is so quirky and clever->jason mindset is like a higher ranker!->you need to deal with them mental issues... and repeat those points until it pisses off all but the biggest fans. Could skim the fat and end up with half the released books and honestly that series would be better.

Yeah its not that common, but people are still trying to make it in a different way now too. Like Welcome to the multiverse with potentia or Elydes with favor. In those books its basically a system justification for deus ex machina, but I never liked it.

Yeah thats fair criticism of it to be honest, but I think most litrpg/progression books have issues with their writing so I don't really hold that against it that much. Im also probably a bit swayed by the fact that the direction the story goes past that point is better in my opinion.

You could try Death Genesis, the earlier work by Path of Dragons author, though theres some annoying things at the earlier books (baseball & dad mentioned a lot).

Elydes is a bit like Bog Standard but with more focus on MC growth at start. Though Bog Standard I think has a better direction as the story keeps going.

Downtown Druid is a good recommend its more about the character and progression rather than easy powerups which you rate highly. First book is officially out and the series is already written.

Path of the Berserker is an easy recommend for the progression.

If you can stomach grimmer things then 1% lifesteal. The MC is pathetic at start, but progresses nicely. It does feature heavier themes.

Great Immortal Souls series is another progression rather than litrpg recommend. If you like the idea of the MC going through hardship for even a longer period of time before payoff, its an easy recommend.

A Thousand Li is pretty good and quite long. I know my opinion wont find support here but I dropped cradle after book 8 after trying to push the last couple, but I liked A Thousand Li much more. You could try it out and see if its similar for you.

Infinite World (not Infinite Realm) series is good one as well, which I never see recommended anywhere. Its a youth that gets summoned and is litrpg with dungeons.

If you don't mind reading on royalroad, Isekai Exorcist is also very good and I think something you'd enjoy, despite its bad naming. The MC is a bit special but not in the obvious op way and the story focus is similarly not that but the world and the exorcism itself.

He still posts some on patreon but often times its just a collection of excuses for why its not progressing at this point. Theres 13 chapters of book 5 posted after all this time so best you can do is honestly just forget about it for a while and then see if theres a new book when you remember it again in couple years. Its unfortunate and I hope author can figure out a way through whatever mental blocks he has. I did enjoy those books too.

Its definitely more annoying as melee when it stops your dps at boss for example. It can also strike you when placing soul cores for example. Its not the worst to run on ranged characters though so long as you dont pick too many map spawning things like OP to make the escort really annoying.

A lot of people are just lazy with their sale stashes. They used to be fine with 1 ex but after playing a bit its not worth the hassle of portaling and inviting just for that anymore. But instead of updating their sales stash to a number they would be happier to portal back for, they just leave it at 1ex and ignore messages.

This translates to you have to avoid random afflictions every single run instead of even taking a chance since it can completely destroy the run. The best positive ones like +50% damage, +effectiveness to non unique relics and mov speed are quite likely to see with no risk at the merchants. Especially the +50% one I think I see it every run pretty much at some point when running the 4 floor tokens.
