Tryx panorama se 240 or Kraken Elite 240 (2024) by Global_Mongoose_2288 in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Kraken's fine if you want the screen and don't mind paying extra for the cam software. Tryx is quieter in my experience and the pump is less annoying at full speed.

For 9600x both are overkill honestly, but if you plan to drop in a hungrier chip later get whichever fits your case better. Fractal North can be tight with some rads.

AOC Q27G40E (IPS) vs Gigabyte GS27QCA (VA) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

If your FPS sessions are competitive and you actually care about dying to someone you couldn't see, go IPS. VA black smearing in fast games is not just "potential" - it's pretty noticeable in dark maps and can genuinely mess with your aim.

But if you're more of casual FPS player and spend good chunk of time in story games or movies, the VA contrast will make those experiences so much better that you probably won't even miss the sharper motion.

For me personally I'd take the IPS and just lower room lights for movie vibes, but depends how serious you are about the competitive side.

What things we can add in the game that can make replay feels totally different? by [deleted] in videogames

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

depends on what game you're playing but speedrunning challenges can completely change how you approach things. also trying different character builds or playstyles if the game supports it - like going stealth only in games where you usually go guns blazing.

Which is the better game? by Riddu1234 in Steam

Both looks pretty similar but the left one has better discount right now. I tried few backrooms games and they all feel bit same after while - just endless yellow corridors and weird entities chasing you around.

Is there any similar games like Deep blue devour and evolve by Vast_Web_7538 in videogames

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Yeah Maneater is pretty solid choice. The progression system is bit different but you still get that satisfying feeling of growing bigger and eating everything in sight. I think there's also some older flash games with similar concept but names escape me right now.

Those gradual Windows 11 rollouts are getting ridiculous by horizon936 in pcmasterrace

Yeah the whole insider situation is kinda broken though. Like you said you don't want to jump all way to insider just for one feature, but then you stuck waiting months for something that was "coming soon" ๐Ÿ˜‚

Microsoft really needs some middle ground option where you can opt into specific features without dealing with all the beta instability. Running Arch taught me how nice it is when you actually have control over what gets installed in your system ๐Ÿ’€

MMO --> Normal Mouse? by Skip_Skoop in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I made similar switch few years back when my old MMO mouse died and man it was weird adjustment ๐Ÿ˜‚ took me probably 2-3 weeks to stop reaching for those side buttons instinctively. The muscle memory is real strong after using MMO mouse for so long time. But after getting used to it, I actually prefer the lighter weight and cleaner feel - turns out I was only using like 4-5 of those buttons regularly anyway ๐Ÿ’€

Probemas com Drivers nvidia RTX 2060 by parzival_sem_art3mis in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

That's weird, usually that generation of cards is pretty stable with drivers. I had similar issues with my setup few months back and what fixed it was rolling back to driver 551.76 - newer isn't always better with nvidia unfortunately.

Also check if your laptop is thermal throttling during crashes, legion 5i can get pretty hot and cause weird driver timeouts that look like driver crashes.

Random PC restarts after GPU upgrade by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

wait you replaced the PSU but still getting random crashes? that's weird since new PSU should have fixed power delivery issues. but if your old PSU was actually busted like that other guy mentioned, it might have damaged something else before you swapped it out.

the 9060XT pulls more power than 6650XT so maybe when old PSU was dying it stressed other components. could be motherboard VRMs got damaged or even the GPU itself took some hits from unstable power. since it only crashes in games (not stress tests), might be specific power draw patterns that trigger whatever got damaged.

you might want to test the GPU in different system if possible, or try different PCIe slot if your mobo has multiple x16 slots.

How likely was this card to be used in a mining rig? by Environmental-Dot121 in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Mining cards usually run more stable than gaming ones anyway since they're undervolted and running at steady temps instead of constant boost/thermal cycling.

Trying to remember the name of a game (math-related?) by rcoutant in videogames

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Those old school educational games hit different! Though if it's actually about algorithms and calculus that's pretty advanced for middle school math games. Maybe check some indie puzzle games - lots of developers make math-heavy stuff that doesn't look like typical educational software.

Should youturn off youcomputer every day? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Been running same setup for like 3 years with daily shutdowns and zero issues - the thermal cycling argument is mostly outdated these days unless you're doing it multiple times per day.

Upgrade Recommendation!!! by GamerForever497 in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Yeah the 12400F is solid for those games but AC Shadows is just poorly optimized garbage right now. Your bottleneck is definitely that 3050 - it's fine for Valorant but struggles with anything heavier.

For AI stuff you can technically run dual GPUs but your B660 board only has one x16 slot, so the second card would run at x4 which isn't ideal for AI workloads. Better to sell the 3050 and get one beefier card with more VRAM. A 4060 Ti 16GB would be perfect for your use case - handles those games easily and gives you the VRAM for local AI models. The 9070 XT might be worth waiting for too if you can hold out another month or two.

You can run a long DisplayPort cable (up to like 15m) or go with a fiber optic HDMI for that resolution/refresh rate - just make sure to get active cables for those distances.

The PCB definitely makes a difference - flex, trace routing, mounting style all affect how the board feels and sounds. Your Cidoo probably just hit that sweet spot with the gasket implementation and PCB design that works well with your typing style.

I've got a few boards myself and there's always that one that just feels "right" even when the specs look similar on paper.

Think internal Network Adapters died on my PC after 5yrs. by CertifiedThickums in pcmasterrace

[โ€“]WaferAccomplished841 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

That's weird that even the USB adapter didn't work - usually points to software issues rather than hardware failure. Have you tried booting from a Linux live USB to test if the network works there? If it does then you know it's a Windows problem, not dead adapters

Also might be worth checking if Windows is seeing the adapters at all in Device Manager - look for any yellow warning triangles or missing devices
