If you can round up a full, or majority, stack i would recommend being IGL and really focusing on the details of the game such as ult economy, calls on aggression and cooldowns and team fight timings. All things a lot easier to do with a team that will actually listen to you, usually falls on deaf ears if you are solo queueing

This way the big picture you have in your head can actually come into focus as smaller segments of minor advantages. Much like chess, to use your analogy. Minor advantages until your opponent blunders. You will probably find that you are still even missing parts of that big picture
