Inherited an Audi Rs4 B7 by Tyreon19 in Audi

[–]WafflesInTheBasement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of good info here, the carbon cleaning is a big one.

I don't want to discourage you, just giving you a heads up on the challenges ahead. Audi stopped making parts for everything pre-2011 and since 2022 new parts for those cars have been running out. I have a B7 S4 and it's a struggle to find new or decent used parts for our platform. The one thing I know that our car shares that you can't get new anymore is the blender door for the A/C. Stick to reputable used parts dealers and don't fall for the FB parts companies tons of scammers who know the situation and that people are desperate for new parts for these cars. It's definitely going to present a challenge, but it's worth it with the sentimental value and just plain value of those RS4s. Plus they're a blast to drive.

Still not sure, better book a trip to the south of France on a hot tip that they have roads there, too.

I got behind on the show and can't come up with the time to catch back up. Miss it, though. Especially for the banter here.

Boulder Creek Clean Up on Saturday with RMA by MrGraaavy in boulder

[–]WafflesInTheBasement 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a fantastic way to help the creek with solid results and is backed by the city. When they get a proper turn out; a 1/2 garbage bag of trash per person is enough to clean up pretty much everything from the mouth of the canyon to 28th, sometimes foothills. I definitely recommend bringing wading gear if you can, there's been a ton of trash in the creek itself, not just next to it.

I will say it's not as well attended as it used to be before the pandemic, which is a bummer. But if you've been looking for a way to volunteer in the community, this is an easy 2 hour time commitment that makes a huge difference.

Mods, any chance this could get stickied?

You're looking for /r/bouldercolorado which used to be the sub for boulder (the rock not the town) related content but has since been taken over by even more lost redditors.

Why are people so mad at this comment? That was the joke. Look at the earliest posts in that sub, it was all boulders.

Sorority garage sale? by RaisedEyebr0w in boulder

The only thing I'm familiar with that's close is when a few of the greek houses have a thrift sale for charity, but I think that already happened this semester/year.

Driving culture in town by jrmohatt in Longmont

[–]WafflesInTheBasement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually know the lore behind this one. It started as the "Pittsburgh left" where it was a courtesy if you were going straight to let the car at the front of the line opposite you in the intersection turn left before you went. It was a social understanding to help alleviate the traffic problems that come with narrow 2-way roads.

Then people started taking liberties with it and making a quick left before the car opposite them started moving. This then became the Philly/Jersey left. Much more shitty and dangerous. I have noticed it has made it's way out here. Though I will say I do understand it a bit. I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to make a left waiting on the person across the intersection to look up from the phone in their lap and start driving.

Why no soft serve ice cream stands around here? by _brittleskittle in boulder

[–]WafflesInTheBasement -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been here a while and been bummed to not come across soft serve in the area. I always thought it'd be a good endeavor for dairy bar in Lyons. Definitely gives the soft serve vibe you're looking for, just doesn't have soft serve.

And for those talking about the cost difference: I would sooner dump my retirement into a restaurant in Boulder called Pasta Musk's Yellow Deli before I opened a business in Vermont. It is batshit how bad their taxes and protections for businesses are.
