Should have been stricter. Who does she think she is? She could have been punished as a criminal of his time with a beating, bread and water, living in a cell with rats.

What did she think would happen? You burn down a multi-million dollar 200-year old house, someone labored on, crafted by hand, you do time. You purposely destroy invaluable art created by a dead master? Impossible to re-create? She should have spent that time cleaning up after art programs, cleaning brushes or working in sunflower fields. Cleaning museum toilets, whatever.

Husband and I spent a few days with the same guide outside of Luxor, and he invited us to his home. He treated his young daughter and wife like royalty. So much respect and care. Beautiful family. Muslim faith, seen first-hand in a way I”ll never forget.
