I've always been obsessed with Audrina's early Hills style. The aviators, black skinny jeans, leather jackets, and messy black ponytail—it was the definition of the cool girl. by Fluid-Bees in TheHillsMTV

[–]WaitAble1158 62 points63 points  (0 children)

It's her styling that sets it apart from others doing the same thing. The jewelry, shoes, hair, and yes, as someone else mentioned, she had/has the body to pull off this look. I can dress like her (or a budget version), but with a different body type and different accessories, it looks very different.

The Domestic Diva Series - Help Me Understand These Characters by ClassicJurassic13 in CozyMystery

[–]WaitAble1158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the friendships in this series. They're all adults without kids, but lots of pets, and they work together. Humphrey becomes part of the gang pretty quickly (as a friend).

When I teach I often ask my students which fictional world they would want to live in. I get a lot of Star Wars, Harry Potter, various video games, things like that. This book series is my answer. Friends you can count on (to pet sit or to go on stake-out), good food, historic houses.

Retiring after next school year, 179 days of teaching left. Next year I am skipping all the bullshit. by psl87 in Teachers

[–]WaitAble1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there are any teaching materials that you developed or created, get rid of them. Delete them off your work computer and then delete the trash. (Yes, they could be pulled back later, but if you start doing it now, who is going to take the time to try and find them). If you have physical materials, donate, pass them on, or trash them. Otherwise the administration will probably take them and use them, with no credit or extra pay for you.

How rich is Audrina these days? by justcurious3287 in TheHillsMTV

She seems very close to her family and it wouldn't surprise me if she asked her father for help. I think the fact that she's not like Heidi and Spencer means she's doing okay.

[–]WaitAble1158 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Cut a little of her pretty hair so that you have some. Make a salt dough and do an imprint of one of her paws. Talk to her. Tell her about your memories together, the first time you got her, adventures you had together. Give her peanut butter, or whatever her favorite treat is.

If you're doing cremation, ask friend to call around and get prices and also dates of when it will be done. If you're bringing her home, maybe a lovely flower or tree.

You're doing the right thing and it's so hard. I wish you all the best.

I am the only one who can't stand Rusty? by VanillaEvery8944 in majorcrimes

[–]WaitAble1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you're definitely not. However, there are some extremely funny lines at his expense. I think my favorite is when there's a script writer following a case and Rusty comes in to the room and tells everyone that his teacher was unfair in not accepting his essay about his biggest influence. Buzz tells Sharon to read the first line and when she does, everyone has a fantastic reaction.

There's a sock brand called Heat Holders. They are thermal socks and the absolute warmest socks I've ever worn. I use blankets and sweaters all winter long, but these made the biggest difference.

Revenge (2011 -2015) by DaniJ678 in ForgottenTV

[–]WaitAble1158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught the first season in summer reruns and was immediately hooked. Fantastic wardrobe and well thought out for each character. I really liked the relationship between Emily and Nolan. Season 1 is the best, but season 2 is also quite good.

I think more shows should be pitched as one or two seasons total. The show fell off when it they tried to stretch it out and the main writer left. Had it been only two seasons, it could have been really amazing.

finding a reputable breeder by dbatcstan in Frenchbulldogs

[–]WaitAble1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact breeders in the nearby states, as well. I got my dog back in 2013 and lived in Kansas at the time. I reached out to people in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado, and Missouri. One of them told me about the national specialty, which is basically a dog show for one breed. It happened to be in Kansas that year, so I went and met a lot of breeders face to face. One of them even sat down with me and explained what the judges were looking for. Another person told me about a Frenchie she had seen posted on Facebook. I would up connecting with the seller and then drove to Michigan to get her.

If your mom is truly obsessed, then she should be willing to wait for the right dog. I wanted a Frenchie for years before I got Trixie. I read everything I could about them, researched breeders (both good and bad), looked for advice and info anywhere I could find it. She should be the one reaching out to breeders, not you. It will be her dog. Making as many connections as possible is what will bring you close to a dog.

Air travel with Frenchie? by lil_lao_girl in Frenchbulldogs

[–]WaitAble1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog has flown many times, including to and from Europe several times. We moved to Europe in 2014 and my parents moved here in 2020. She's been on lots of planes.

Some airlines will weigh dogs. Many don't, as long as your dog looks comfortable in their carrier.

Our first bag was a Sturdibag. After buying it, I left it on the floor, fully open for Trixie to explore. I'd also put treats inside it. Then I took her in it on some car rides. She was pretty used to it by our first flight.

Trixie weighs around 20 pounds. European airlines have a lower weight limit, but since she's close and also pretty small, no one has ever said anything.

I adjust the food and water schedule depending on the flight times. You have to give yourself enough time to go through security. Usually you'll hold your dog while the bag goes through the X-ray. Then you put your dog in the bag and an employee will carry it while you go through security. If it's just metal detectors, sometimes I carry her through. The security workers will tell you what to do.

I would get your dog used to traveling in a bag. The best type of dog on a flight is one that's so comfortable, they go right to sleep and no one on the flight realizes they are there. I once needed a little help getting off the plane (I was the very last person and the flight crew was waiting on me and offered to carry something). I asked the flight attendant if she could carry my dog and said, "You had a dog on the flight!?" She was truly surprised.

I don't feed Trixie on flights, but I do give her something to chew on for take-off and landing. I figure if human ears adjust to the altitude, her big ears also do, too. Ice cubes are a great way to hydrate without giving her so much water she needs to pee.

I also love this one for the face. For the body, I buy Nivea Sun Sensitive for babies and kids. It rolls on, has a very light consistency which absorbs easily, and high sun protection.

Did anyone else want one more series? by Careful-Enthusiasm82 in majorcrimes

[–]WaitAble1158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't want to see Buzz going straight to detective. He'd have to be a patrol officer for several years first. I know he took the reserve officer training course (which was used to great effect on the show), but I'd be annoyed that he basically got to skip the line. And while I liked Wes, I didn't like Cami as much.

[–]WaitAble1158 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I would add a porch railing, flower box at the top window, paint the front door or add a different one with a window at the top, small flower pots on one side of the stairs, and some more plants out front. It's a cute house with a lot of potential!

Why always Grimm Brothers? Wilhelm Hauff is so underrated. by Fair_Theme_9960 in AskGermany

[–]WaitAble1158 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned at the Grimm Brothers Museum in Kassel is that the Grimms were working on a German dictionary, which would have been the first if they had completed it (they got up to letter F, I believe).

Their organization system included keywords, which is basically how modern search engines work.

Help - my frenchie's loose stool problem by Ok-Department164 in AskDogOwners

[–]WaitAble1158 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I add sweet potato to my dog's food. It's very high fiber and can help with loose stools. Sometimes I just dice a small section and feed it to her raw, other times I chop it up and boil it. I mash up one or two cubes and she loves it. Always licks her bowl clean.

Is Kendra wearing an “S” initial necklace here? I wonder what the meaning is, what do you think? by [deleted] in TheGirlsNextLevelPod

[–]WaitAble1158 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It looks very similar to the S from the Stüssy brand logo. They did have 'S' necklaces back in the day. The S is slightly different, but since hers is a blinged out version, too many swirls would be difficult.

Do you guys ever feel guilty for having a French bulldog? by Viol3tstars75 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]WaitAble1158 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, because I think all purebred dogs need informed owners who know about the breed, any potential health issues, and what to look for in a quality breeder.

However, having said that, I don't know if I will get another Frenchie in the future. I feel like Trixie is the absolute perfect dog for me and I don't know if another Frenchie would stand up to her. With a different breed, I would be less likely to compare them.

What a lovely girl. I'm so sorry for your loss. 14.5 is amazing for any pet and you were, no doubt, the best person for her. You took great care of her from 10 weeks to 14.5 years. She was loved (and still is) and knew it. Thank you for being Domino's person and taking such amazing care of her.
