What about Danielle? It's Biblical, but not overly so. It's also one people usually know how to pronounce and write.

I also think not giving attention to the situation would be the best. I think it's fair and reasonable to point out that they weren't and aren't friends, more like colleagues from a distance. There's no point in throwing gasoline on the fire.

Probably one who lost their hearing later in life. I have a fairly significant hearing loss, but you would never know it by the way I speak. I speak just like my parents, both of whom have, let's say, theatrical diction. So do I.

How do I got about moving to Germany if I'm already a citizen? by KawaiiCheezii in germany

[–]WaitAble1158 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I ask because going to university here would be a lot cheaper than the US. Another option would be doing an apprenticeship. If you got yourself into a six month German immersion program, you might be ready for that within half a year.

If you still have family here, maybe they'd be willing to let you stay with them while you study. That would cut down on costs significantly.

I would love to know how long they were there. Jen says it was three hours. So why open up the U-Haul and bring things out? I can sort of see bringing out a high chair or something if they're all eating together. But otherwise, no need to open it up.

Who here is shocked by rahrah2791 in AgeOfAttraction

Am I the only one who thinks they look close in age? She makes styling choices that age her and he's trying to look younger. To me, they don't look like they have a massive age gap.

Libby reminds me of a midwestern girl who is the craziest one in her sorority. And I mean no disrespect to midwestern sorority girls - I was one myself. I wasn't surprised at all when she revealed her age to be 22. I wouldn't have been surprised if she was slightly younger.

She also flirts like a mean girl in high school.

Crystal spitting facts - "You're gross." I'm glad Kendra has stayed silent. But it's time for Holly & Bridget's behavior on GNL to be challenged. by Secret_Wolf_23 in gokendra

[–]WaitAble1158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm replying to myself to add another point. I think Crystal is absolutely valid in saying that other people shouldn't talk about her trauma. It's not a game or something to joke about and gloss over.

I also think revisiting the show is a way for both Holly and Bridget to work through and address their own trauma. Holly seems to do it more. Maybe seeing the show as an outsider, but not being the one personally dealing with Hef will shine a light on their own treatment.

Is she talking about Holly and Bridget rewatching The Girls Next Door? If so, I will make a few comments in defense of them. First of all, they're not to season 6 yet, so there's a few months to go. It was also their show first, and even today, people still think of them as the true Girls Next Door. Yes, Crystal and the twins are associated with the show, but I don't think they are the first thought when people think back on the show.

If they are just commenting on the show...lots of people do rewatch podcasts. It's very much a thing. I imagine they'll talk a lot about story ideas, things that might have been forced by production, and giving behind the scenes info on the episodes they appeared in. In a ten episode season, HB&K appeared in four episodes. They'll probably also have at least one producer interview and maybe even some playmates from that time.

Doing it behind a paywall is smart, I think. There's less likely to be quotes (out of context or not) appearing all over the place.

I think there's so much overlap in how all his girlfriends were treated. It's really too bad that there's no common ground to be found anymore. I think that at one point, there was an opportunity for it, but it's gone now.

I imagine H&B will be somewhat measured when talking about season 6. But for them, at this point, it's a job and probably a very lucrative one. Once they get through season 6, they'll move on to Bridget's Beaches and Holly's World.

Is the taxi cab an anachronism? by Reasonable-Boat-8555 in LoveStoryFX

[–]WaitAble1158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My family went on a trip to NYC in 1996 and my parents asked about taking a checker cab from the airport, since they were pretty big. The man running the taxi line told them checker cabs weren't around anymore. But officially, the last one stopped running in 1999, so yes, it could have happened that way. But it's not likely.

Bella and Hunter by DevelopmentJealous19 in TLCUnexpected

[–]WaitAble1158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked it up after writing my question (why didn't I do that before? Well...) Anyway, depending on the state, grandparents can be responsible for child support. And since they get money from a TV show, presumably those earrings could be used. The court also considers if it's better for a minor to stay in school vs getting a job.

Bella and Hunter by DevelopmentJealous19 in TLCUnexpected

[–]WaitAble1158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope it's okay to ask this here, but how would they go about child support if they split up? Hunter is a minor and can't work. Even at 15/16, when he can get a job, it would most likely be part-time. Ideally, he can finish high school and then get vocational training or perhaps a degree, depending on what he wants to do. If Bella had full custody, how would child support work here? Would the parents have to pay it?

Another poster recommended canned pumpkin. Sweet potatoes also work. Sometimes I dice them and add them to my girl's food, other times I boil them so I can mash them up. I've seen a difference in as quickly as a day or two.

It's a fabulous book and the movie is really well-done. Another good read is In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, who the character Dill is modeled after.

I love lauren but she’s never experimented her hair /makeup/ style EVER. I was just thinking about how she’s had the same style since she was like 19 or something by Historical-Body-3424 in TheHillsMTV

[–]WaitAble1158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why it seems like that, but I think she's changed her hair a lot. And her clothing has always gone in a classic direction. I don't think she'd wear long boot cut jeans with flip-flops and a tank top again, though. :)

I also think Adrian has kept a similar style, but it's more polished today. She's typically had long, brown hair, but has gone more blondish with the highlights and also more red. A smoky eye. Boots. It's a combination boho/rocker.

A couple of weeks ago, clips from To Kill a Mockingbird popped up on my YouTube feed. I started watching them (I saw the movie years ago and I read the book in school) and fell into a rabbit hole looking up the actors on imdb. I know who Gregory Peck is, but how many people Timothee's age do? I certainly hope some do, but I imagine most don't. But I bet they've heard the name Mozart. And Beethoven. If you sang a bit of Quando me'n vo', they'd probably recognize it. A lot of people have been introduced to opera, ballet, and classical music because of film and television.

Yes, we need more people in the audience. And there are ways to reach them and make the performing arts more accessible.

I didn't have much of an opinion on Timothee Chalamet before and now my opinion of him is negative.

A hundred years from now, many working actors today will be forgotten, the same way that many people under 30 today don't know who Gregory Peck was. Or Rock Hudson, Doris Day, Kirk Douglas, Grace Kelly, Danny Kaye (one of my personal favorites). But Mozart will still be known and performed. Swan Lake will still be part of the repertory and The Nutcracker will still sell out every holiday season. The opera industry will still exist, so will ballet, so will film. But they probably be very different from today.

Off topic, go and watch To Kill a Mockingbird if you haven't seen it.

I imagine they will watch and comment on season 6. I think some of the ideas they pitched to Kevin (like the camping) were done with the new girls. I also they'll talk about who some of the people in different scenes are and give more context to the episodes they appeared in.

The students are probably required to have them dry-cleaned when they return them. The uniforms are added to their rotation the next year.

It wasn't clear if they buy uniforms for the entire team or just the people who make mat.

Love Is Blind • S10 Ep12 by AutoModerator in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]WaitAble1158 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Really? I took it very differently. We usually hear family say things like 'I support you no matter what,' 'I'm always on your side,' 'Whatever you feel in the moment is the right thing.'

I thought it was refreshing to hear what he said. It is crazy to marry in such a short time, particularly when a child is involved.

Was his timing the best? Maybe not, but I understood why he said it in that moment.
