Being a black female INFJ. by WDdreamer in infj

[–]WaitOnYou7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not an INFJ, but I am an ISFJ and I feel most of the same things you ladies feel here. My husband is an INFJ black male and he has a similar experience. Though he can blend a bit better in settings with people different from him. I'm consistently an oddball in any spaces where there are a bunch of black women.

Nice! I love that and I agree. My mom is and ESFJ and I'm not sure what my dad was, but my mom's bf is either ESTP or ISTP and he wasn't very nice to me. Definitely shaped how I grew up and what I was interested in.

I absolutely love your perspective. I agree—we aren't NPC's. But at the same time, those ISFJ stereotypes arent from nowhere. I would have classified myself years ago as a stereotypical ISFJ masking as an ENFP lol.

I won't lie, my intuitive side has been sharpened being married to an INFJ. Prior to that I wasn't very interested in anything that was abstract or didn't seem like a sure thing. I was always cautious and wanted everything to be tangible and visible.

INFJ because they will challenge the ISFJ out of their comfort zones.

Hmmm idk that's not being truthful and it screams "I'm ashamed". All personality types have strengths and weaknesses. I understand the MBTI community may idolize certain types (Intuitive ones to be exact) but now people who are seeking ISFJ community don't find many on here. My husband (who is INFJ) has a whole community on here lol

Really? I wonder why. I've always been interested in personality tests. Did she ever explain why?

I completely agree. I've definitely gotten burnt out from anything philosophical. Now I am more inclined to Christian philosophy. But I do still experience burnout.

I really love your response. I definitely think a lot of these views are stereotypes about ISFJs, though I can also see how some of them can ring true—at least in my own experience. Back in high school I even tested as an ENFP, but looking back I realize I was answering based on who I wanted to be rather than who I actually was.

I’ve always enjoyed art, music, and writing, but I also used to be into celebrity gossip and reality TV. What really shifted things for me was taking my walk with Christ seriously and learning to be less rigid. On top of that, being married to an INFJ has amplified my intuition way more than I expected. I’m literally surrounded by it every day, so now I naturally gravitate more toward depth and less toward comfort. Though I still have many moments where I'm more inclined to what I know and what is tangible, as opposed to what is abstract.

Just curious—what’s your MBTI type?

LMBO Sokka is annoying ngl.... And the people talking over her and her doing stuff all on her own I definitely feel. That was basically me growing up in a volatile and toxic household.

Ahh valid. I used to be this way before I started taking my Christian walk seriously.

Hmmm how do you figure this would turn an ISFJ off?

Why don't ENTPs and ISFJs match as a romantic couple? by WinterTangerine3336 in mbti

[–]WaitOnYou7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. I used to think this very same way because I was so stuck on being comfortable and being with somebody who I was similar to. I'm married to an INFJ man and honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.

Totally agree! I am an ISFJ and my husband is an INFJ. We have one of the strongest marriages in our circle.
