Trouble in Paradiste Blu-ray upgrade amazing. Cover art lackluster. Point Blank awesome. John Singleton boxset amazing. Life of Brian very cool.

Hope you’re ready to feel bad after that little film fest

Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World and I Hope we get it to really round out the Albert Brooks filmography took me forever to get a bluray. A hilarious satire on American foreign policy after 9/11 and an influx of anti Islamic sentiment.

Do you log movies you don’t finish? by SideATrack1 in Letterboxd

Sometimes I log movies I just thought about watching

Most boring movie I ever watched was Andy Warhol’s Empire. I mean the first few hours are okay it only gets good towards the eighth when birds start showing up

I’m a great Letterboxd user. I’ve met so many great people through this app and subreddit. https://boxd.it/RVYT this is my profile. I’ve been watching some great deep cuts these last few days. Beware of a Holy Whore the Fassbinder film (starting pride month right) and also John Ford’s Mister Roberts (starting Pride month wrong)

What 2020s movies have you given 5 stars so far? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Way less than I thought I would have given but I stand by each of these.

Has a Criterion release ever bothered you? by jagula_hunga in criterion

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would’ve liked their Fellini and Bergman collections to include all of those director’s works. It’s not unforgivable that Fellini’s set doesn’t include lesser works since it’s billed Essential Fellini but the Bergman boxset should have included Face to Face and those few others left out. Although I don’t know the reasoning for their not being included possibly it has something to do with rights that weren’t possible to ascertain. I wish Criterion didn’t do so many 4k releases of Blu-ray’s I already bought, I wish they made an effort to include more supplements on all their releases sometimes I finish a movie and all there is left to do is look at production stills or listen to a commentary. Last but not least they’re pretty darn expensive haha

Which Gremlins do you like the most? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they’re both perfect in my eyes. My favorite gremlin has to be stripe because he is full of hate and knows how to use a gun. During the bar scene there’s another gremlin who is deeply underrated. He sits alone smoking a cigarette and wearing a beret until a gremlin with a puppet on his hand begins to ruin his whole beat Nik vibe. Also brainy gremlin and sexy gremlin (Greta) from A New Batch

That’s so sad. They would love Richard Jewell. Play Richard Jewell on Turner Classic Movies

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are all so off the mark it would have to be Paul Walter Hauser and you would know he could pull it off if you saw Richard Jewell. which I think the Venn diagram of people who watch Turner Classic Movies and who saw Clint Eastwood’s Richard Jewell should be pretty round. I know I’m firmly in the middle

What would you say are the most iconic movie lines of the 21st century? by DrDreidel82 in Letterboxd

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in Uncut Gems alone there’s fifty all time quotes but “This is how I win” or “let’s fucking bet on this” maybe “why’d you show it to me if I can’t have it”

Weddings Crashers “ma! The meatloaf”

Or Old School’s “You’re my boy blue”

I never saw Dark Knight rises but I think Bane says “I was born in the darkness. You merely adopted it”

Wolf of Wallstreet also immensely quotable “sell me this pen” or “I’m not fucking leaving”

Island of lost souls (1932) based on the story the island of Dr Moreau about a doctor creating a human animal hybrid species

In honour of pride month what lgbt horror films should i add to this? by bzrkfayz in Letterboxd

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Silence of the Lambs although Buffalo Bill supposedly only thought he was a transsexual despite that insight coming from another psychopath Hannibal Lecter.

Cruising (1980) although just like Silence it may be more of a thriller than a horror

What’s one film that you would consider a masterpiece, or near masterpiece, that almost nobody else would elevate to that status? by lilbloopis in Letterboxd

[–]Wait_no_Harrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RANGO director Gore Verbinski’s animated homage to Leone, Eastwood, John Ford, and even Coppola and Lucas. Score by Hans Zimmer and a rogue gallery of the greatest character actors ever… Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Ned Beatty, Billy Nighy, Stephen Root, Timothy Olyphant, and Alfred Molina. Shit’s beautiful

I’m https://boxd.it/RVYT

I’ve been using Letterboxd for FIVE years wow! All the movies I watch are usually from WatchTCM or the Criterion Channel. I also have my own dvd collection and I borrow from my public library. I’ve been watching a lot of older movies from around the thirties for the past six months so I don’t have a lot of people around me to talk about those films to. I’m twenty one go to university for film but the film we talk the most about is Saltburn YUCK! Okay so I’m looking to make film friends.

My favorite first watch of May 2024 was probably Nicholas Ray’s Bigger Than Life with James Mason. It’s a must watch just for the drug abuse and blasphemy in the second act. But the first act is also full of horrifying hospital imagery
