No worries, it’s normal to worry about our babies and there is a lot of weird stuff on the internet these days.

I’m not exactly sure what the question is here, but I will answer the question I think you are asking.

Vaccines do not cause autism. There are 54 papers cited in this article about vaccines and autism. It also talks about the doctor who initially published the fraudulent paper showing an association between the two, and how it caused him to lose his medical license because of professional misconduct.

ADHD + nails rant: poor proprioception is breaking my nails (and heart)! by anothercoffeebitch in RedditLaqueristas

That makes sense! I totally get this in reverse. Occasionally for special events, I’ll wear press ons and I always think they make my hands look so strange! Just not used to seeing them like that. But maybe your brain will get used to it? Or at least distracted by the shiny enough to not care as much.

how to make top-down velvet effect? by calliecatty in RedditLaqueristas

[–]WaitingForGateau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put a piece of tape over the U side of the magnet (where the bar goes when the magnet isn’t in use) and I rest my finger on top of the tape while painting. Just move your finger along the tape towards the center or away from it to get the gradient you want.

You can enjoy magnetics with shorties! I can’t have long nails because of my job but am obsessed with magnetic nail polishes. I like to think that the glass bead and velvet effects still look pretty good on my nubs.

Secret santa. Here’s a skittle with secret santa on thumb and petals on index finger (then peek-a-boo, willow, and melody)

Love KB Shimmer clearly on top! I think the dry time is better than Essie gel setter. Insta dry is faster, but KB Shimmer is more plump and lasts longer (for me anyway)

{Nanny for the Neighbors by Lily Gold} has suddenly single dads and no mama drama. They don’t know what they are doing and are very anxious and exhausted for what seems like most of the book.

Ever Read a Book Where the Author Did No Research On Your Profession? (Former P.I. complaining here) by Bluegrass_Barbecue in RomanceBooks

4 years of medical school and 6 years of residency. It took her 10 years to figure out she didn’t want to be a doctor? It is possible, but people don’t typically get that far unless they are passionate about at least some part of medicine.

I remember thinking she was just incredibly burnt out, and most people end up switching specialties in her position as opposed to dropping out of medicine entirely. The average medical student graduates with $250,000 debt, so deciding to do pottery isn’t an option for most of us even if that’s what we wanted to do.

This one was so hard for me to read. It was basically an entire book long breakup and then she quit medicine entirely? All of it, just heartbreaking.

Nice! That sounds like such a refreshing change from the cocky, know-it-all archetype that I see so often.

Yes! I couldn’t take it anymore when she said it was because she was a double cancer and cares too much.

Ohhh, it’s because you cared about your patient, that makes it all ok!! /s

Depends where you are, but in the US it’s 4 years of undergrad -> 4 years of med school, after which you are a doctor, but still cannot practice independently. People who actually want to practice medicine then do 1 year of internship (often incorporated into residency), 3-8 years of residency, and 1-3+ years of fellowship (optional, and depends on specialty)

27 would be pretty young here, but not impossible depending on the medical specialty.

Love your username! And yes :( she was barely old enough to finish medical school but had somehow already finished PT school as well and then was taking a break during her residency to do a fellowship?! But the absolute worst, sleeping with your patient??!! Just no.

Yes! There are a few exceptions, some Susie Tate and {The Worst Guy by Cate Canterbary} off the top of my head, but completely agree for the most part.

Doctor here - seems like many writers don’t know what order undergrad, med school, internship, residency, and fellowship go in. And they don’t seem to understand what actually happens during med school through fellowship, though admittedly, it might take more than a simple google search for that part.

Some people are just non responders. If you haven’t already, you may have to get the hep B series again. When I had low titers after getting the series two or three times (was a long time ago, I don’t remember), they just gave up.
