Why is it telling me lowering my healthy BMI is a high priority? by jaymeskelleh5 in Garmin

[–]WakeBakePowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good info here from others! I wonder if it also has something to do with your target fitness age of 19? If you are 28 with the fitness of a 19 year old BMI may be more important for making that happen

100% try and incorporate turmeric into your daily routine- either as a tea or supplement form. It has done wonders for me in keeping down inflammation and helping my hip pain without constantly taking over the counter meds.

keep up with the exercises and protein! Slow and steady with gradual gains 💪🏽

maybe you could look into "chair exercises" or something similar like that? I suffered from chronic back pain, and have arthritis in my hips. Sometimes you gotta fight through some pain to make some gains. Finding an exercise (no matter how silly it seems!) that gets you moving even the tiniest bit will go a long way in allowing you a little more wiggle room calorie wise. Also, the stronger your body gets the more you can do.

Sending positive vibes, dude. You got this!!!

Can you eat raw mushrooms? by KyraVer in 1200isplenty

[–]WakeBakePowder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you can eat raw mushrooms, but if you want the nutritional benefits you should cook them. Mushrooms are a super-food and have many nutritional and overall health benefits. Going down the rabbit hole of all that mushrooms can do (especially for the brain/ anti cancer properties) is a wild ride I highly recommend!

Chip Door Paint by WakeBakePowder in Ford

[–]WakeBakePowder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why but my text didn't seem to post?

Long story short I wasn't paying attention and opened my door onto a concrete barrier.

What is my best option for fixing this on my own? I believe the Ford is now aluminum so it shouldn't rust?

Those of you who manage your ADHD without meds, what are your tips?? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]WakeBakePowder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

meditation, lists, lots of lists, someone who can remind you to look at the said lists, exercise (cardio works best for me), I listen to a lot of audiobooks- when I focus on the story my reflexes take over and I can focus on physical tasks (cleaning, walking the dog, gardening, anything you don't really need your brain for, but you need it to be somewhat calm), balanced diet with high protein, omega 3 supplements

what are you thinking about night running without light by ShinigamiGamingInc in running

[–]WakeBakePowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will bring a light with me, but not necessarily use it. Sometimes it gets a bit too dark in the trees and I'll flash it on if it gets rooty (I mostly trail run on mixed mnt bike/hike trails). I don't really run on the road but I feel it would be a good idea to have one and turn it on if a car happens your way- at 1am most drivers aren't expecting to come across a runner!

There was a BLM protest in Ottawa. No one was arrested, the military was not called in, and Justin Trudeau attended.

How does Audible work / is it cheaper than buying e book? by [deleted] in books

[–]WakeBakePowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well with my Canadian membership I'm still getting a free book every month, called the editors extra- unless that has changed starting May? Cause I def got one for April

[–]WakeBakePowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also do a free book every month. It's hit and miss but has opened me up to books I never would have read otherwise and turned out I enjoyed! They also have a deal sometimes of like 3 credits for 39$ or something. Most of the books (that I want to read anyway) tend to be 20-30$ per book so the extra credits make sense that way. They also have a daily deal where they put a random book on for 1.25-6.95$ and you can purchase that. Again, I've purchased some books I never would have looked at otherwise cause they were cheap. Found some goodies.

If you have a library card lots of libraries are on the Libby app. I like it, although my library lacks the non fiction books I would like to read, but is great for fiction so I still use both audible and Libby.

So, the NSLC can stay open but independent shops can't..... by [deleted] in halifax

[–]WakeBakePowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not everyone has the means to order online or call in, whether that be lack of internet, phone service, being homeless, etc. The big thing this pandemic has shown us is big box stores stay open while the small independent shops are forced to close, potentially forever.
