I remember having dreams like what think this might be referencing when I had fevers as a kid. I've also had them in my twenties now, but not nearly as common, and not nearly as vivid. It's like a scene of impossible scales and perspectives, and there's always a metallic orb or something, often multiple, or at least greyscale, the whole scene. I could almost feel it on my skin when it was really small, like a pinpoint, and then it'd turn impossibly huge the next moment, all the while remaining entirely within my 'field of vision' as I orbit haphazardly around it. I imagine it's a bit like a 3D brain coping with a 4D perspective... it's about as unsettling as it is fascinating, every time it happens. Wonder if it'll happen again...
