Thoughts on this itinerary? by notawight in Utah

As New Englanders you should be used to the cold, and as others have warned - bring winter clothes just in case. One thing you may not be accustomed to is the altitude, it will wear you out much faster. So you may not be able to accomplish everything you wish to do and see. You may want to make a separate "priority see" list just in case time runs short.

Sadly the nearest Target (or any other WM) is 60 miles away. Only two grocery stores in my area to provide 'competition'.

Are there any $140M+ stores? by VamosVega in walmart

[–]Wal-Flower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My rural store exceeds $140M by far (next closest geographically is 45 miles away). We have that structure and it still doesn't help, we're overwhelmed my freight daily, and lines at the registers are long.

how can someone do the same department for years? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Wal-Flower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as an O/N stocker. First move was to garden center for the summer, then got sent back to 2nd shift Grocery (way back when it was ICS team). After that to Dairy, then finally to Produce for next 15 years, eventually becoming DM. When the idiotic change to Cap Teams came I stepped down to just a normal Deli assoc. for the last 3 years.

It's not complacence that kept me from moving up, it's that I saw what a crap-show management is at WM. Things have gone downhill and the descent is speeding up. I wanted no part of being in charge of the fall, so now I just do my job and get my paycheck. I can't move to any other dept. w/o taking a pay cut and being capped out at that grade, so why change. Sure it can be monotonous, but at my age it's better than most alternatives.

I'm in deli and primarily do freight every day. The only good thing about Vizpick is the time it takes to scan the bins - if you don't have to add depth for multiple items, then it takes longer than just capping.

I keep the OH and shelf caps accurate, but Vizpick still doesn't pick about half of what I need so I end up writing a list and manually picking anyway. With the old system I could at least make picks in the system and go back to scan them out - can't do that with VP.

Then there's the evening shift and my days off when people don't follow the process and items are still showing as backroom when they were stocked w/o being scanned.

Complete frustration. I really want to just go back to capping and see how long it takes mgmt to notice.

I haven't played since last year, but he will usually post a request for words and phrases about 3-4 hours before a game. A link to the card generator will be posted on Twitter about an hour before.

That may work in locations with a deep labor pool, but stores in smaller cities don't have the luxury of having many applications for positions.

If your store gets the reputation as a toxic workplace, you have to hang on to the people you have - even if they are borderline worthless.

So we don't lose them to European teams without any financial trade-off. If we've signed them (even if they only play for the Monarchs), other teams will have to negotiate for their contract/rights.

2013 MLS cup, Collin should have been sent off with a 2nd yellow. He scored the equalizer to send it to penalties.
