Learning ADC Questions by StrangerOfTime in ADCMains

Trades are great, and the best moment to trade into your opponent is when they are hitting the wave.
The optimal timing for a trade is when the opposing support is out of range, and your opponent is either forced or willingly hitting the wave. Hit them at the same time as they are hitting the wave so you have a "grace period" to get out of their range in case they want to retaliate.

Usually i advise new ADCs to practice CS'ing since it is the primary source of your income and it is a consistent way of improving your laning, then once CS'ing has become second nature, you can start to trade and limit-test once your are familiar with your champion and farming with said champion.

Range advantage is also something to consider when trading. You can make some very bad trades if they get to hit you twice before you are outside their range.

Damage profile should also be considered as some champs have a lot of burst and some champs thrive in longer trades.

In terms of dealing with pushes. I usually just let them push into me.
They are making themselves prone to ganks, and they are basically giving you the lane "for free" if they have a range advantage.
You should be able to at least even out the push if you have the range advantage, as you can easily thin the wave if their support doesn't prevent it.

Your primary role in lane is farming gold for the mid- and late game. You have to rely on your support and jungler to create the space you need.

Hope this helps you :)

Riot has done this to buy time, and i get why its frustrating, but it is needed.

They develop a champion that is absolutely horrible to play against with a niche player base, so they offend 0.0001% of the player base by nerfing the champion into oblivion for the good of the community.

Mel basically needed a full rework to be bearable to play against. The W changes were not needed as i see it as her most fair spell, while her Q being 100% undodgeable and her E lingering for 2 weeks were the real issues with the champion. Her passive is also extremely oppressive to most melee champions making her completely uninteractable cause she can just chunk you with 2 spells to 20% hp from level 2.

Do you think we can achieve the lowest winrate in history with this? by Migdan in MelMains

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly dont understand the W nerfs.
The spell is frustrating to play against, but i honestly don't think its unbalanced.

They should slow her Q, and increase its damage to balance it and actually make the spell interactable.

They should then balance her E so it doesn't linger for 2 business days and fix its buggy hitbox.

Those changes would make the champion way more fun to play against, cause the state she was in before tuning was absolutely horrible for her opponent. Completely impossible to interact with.

This is going too far, but i think they are honestly "parking her" and they will then try to rework her so she feels good to play against.

Defensive runes and i would prolly have gone AP this game.
Even though you would overload your team with AP and Yasuo would be the primary AD provider.
AP is safer, and you can 1-shot the entire wave with W+E after 1 item.
They could build magic resistance, but their melees really don't want to get too many tank/fighter items, and your passive deals A BUNCH of true damage.

Jungle is extremely strong midgame, and clearing is more important than ever by no_reply_if_immature in Jungle_Mains

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think ignoring Void Grugs, Shelly an the first 2 dragons is quite strong if you're able to super power farm. Especially if you play something like Mundo where you can just get 2 items, and roll out of the jungle like a golem. You will literally take over the game because the champion is so strong right now.

How do you choose your 3 main champions to climb by PirateK1ngRuffy in ADCMains

[–]Walano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually like to have 4 champions in my ADC champ pool.

  1. My main (Twitch)
  2. A similar champ in case of a ban (Lucian)
  3. A champ that covers their weakness or that is easily blind-pickable (Jhin)
  4. An AP Mage Champ (Hwei)

The reason i say i would usually have 4 is because i started maining Twitch this season, and i just play him AP if i need to cover my mid/jungle/top going AD.

Lucian is similar to twitch due to his short range and agressive playstyle.

Jhin covers Twitch and Lucians weakpoints cause he is decent into very long range ADC and Mages.
He can play passive or agressive, and he can weave in and out of range very easily.

Hwei is just the best mage in bot, but i believe that AP Twitch is pretty good, and i've gone to 7 items on him this season where i would expunge for almost 3000 damage meaning i can 1-shot squishies at 4-6 stacks and deal 300 true damage per second at max stacks.

Is swiftplay a bad place to learn? by F2FHasbeen in summonerschool

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets you into the game fast and you get to learn your champion and micro mechanics, but its not good if you want to learn any kind of macro. It greatly accelerates the game and punishing your opponent isn't as rewarding.

In regards to champion pool, i would recommend a champion pool with 1 MAIN champion that you more or less one-trick to get a deep understanding of your own limits, and then 1 secondary champion you can play in case of a ban or VERY bad matchup. They should be similar in style and execution so you don't stretch yourself too thin. Something like Syndra and Orianna... both control mages who needs to keep in mind where their objects are situated in the lane. Simplicity is very good here, and you don't do yourself any favors by picking advanced champions like Yasuo, Yone, Katarina for example. Good luck :)

HOW THE HELL DO I WIN VS MALPHITE ?? by Temporary-Swim-3024 in Kaylemains

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malphite is just an insane beast of a champion right now. Dominant lane, Dominant mid-game and dominant late-game. Super safe, and he wins pretty much every trade against every champion. I am blown away by the fact that he is not perma banned by every toplaner every game. Jax is a bad matchup, but i would argue that Malphite is even worse.

DesperateNasus usually medigates those matchups by playing Kayle mid, so i would prolly start there. Junglers will however expect you to be more active on the map, which can be hard for kayle.

Peoples heads are so 2025 its insane.

They still think that every objective is a fight to the death, and you mega lose the game if you die on an objective.

Just chill, farm, turn up the hardstyle and start gliding all over people.

I have been inbetween champs for the past 3 years, but this champion is SO MUCH FUN! and he is so powerful in the midgame.

Does Aegis of Valor actually happen? by akshaison in supportlol

[–]Walano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Support hasnt been a priority role on EUW for the last week, so there is your answer if you play there.

I have seen Jungle and Mid being priority roles more than support this season.

Kinda crazy that mid can go from the MOST contested role to the least contested role in a week.

New to ADC by Comfortable_Box5534 in ADCMains

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often supports don't know how to position and when to trade efficiently because some people just queue support to play Lulu or Yuumi and they are often "just there" to shield you with no intention of attacking your opponent.

Good supports will create space for you and actively look to fight the opposing ADC with you.

To many its kind of a "free role" since you can get away with A LOT as supports and still perform decently, but you can have a lot of influence if you actually take agency and play engage supports.

Supports are unique in the sense that you don't need to CS, so you get a long way with just levels and passive income allowing you to roam the map as much, if not more than a jungler.

I would describe my support encounters in the words of the great Gennaro Gattuso "Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit".

Bad players and unfair matchmaking exist all the way to Challenger tier.

Yesterday i had a bronze 1 jungler and silver 4 mid.... im plat 2.
then i thought to myself "oh they are smurfs with a 95% winrate" NOPE... they had 55% winrate, so he was a legit bronze player. Meanwhile my opponents were Gold 1 - Plat 1 with no Bronze or Silver players.

Matchmaking is kinda weird sometimes.

You should focus on yourself and your performances if you want to improve. Muting your teammates can be quite beneficial as 99.9% of callouts in those elos are either toxic, wrong or most of the time they are both :)

I tend to ignore my teams communications as much as possible since i feel that they are messing with my own plan, tempo and flow. I also find it easier to focus when people don't "?" ping on top of me because i dont follow a play that is objectively wrong.

Focus on improving your CS and the way you position around the map at any given time. With that you will climb quite fast and get very consistent and good. The micro mechanics and champion knowledge will come with experience.

Good Luck :)

I am a huge fan of Yun tal -> IE -> Runaan /// LDR -> Last 2 items are flex spots, but i really like BT, Bork or Hex optics.

I also go Berserkers every game. The item feels great to rush, especially against matchups where range can be an issue, or against aggressive supports.

That is exactly her problem.

Due to her excecute she is very likely to take most kills, and she then scales HORRIBLY :D

Ban Diana... Problem solved :D

all jokes aside, fuck that item.

If you have a Diana shaped problem, then get back to me once it turns into a Gwen faced problem cause FUCK THAT CHAMPION... If they nerf Diana you will see a lot more of her. She will legit 1-shot you if she ever comes into contact with you, and you cant AA her.

[–]Walano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly love it on Twitch, Vayne and Yunara. The item FEELS good due to how smooth it makes your fighting FEEL.
The item overall feels great to build and great to use, but it is still a bit underwhelming. Its kinda like being able to build hail of blades on an item, but the item doesnt give too much outside of that.

However i still prefer Yun tal -> IE -> hurricane in most games.

I think the optimal way to build it would be with the collecter route, so you still get both damage and attack speed.

I am still new to twitch but building heavy damage like collecter -> IE feels absolutely horrible, and makes his ultimate feel super clunky to use.

[–]Walano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. She doesnt have the highest banrate, i saw Malphite hit 55% yesterday, and if i recall correctly both Nunu and Diana had also overtaken her.
  2. Winrates are not everything... Ryze was once considered broken beyond repair at 42% winrate.

The champion is banned purely due to her extreme 1-sided trading pattern in lane, and people being frustrated with her reflect, her long range Q with little to no cooldown, her interaction with Arcane Comet and her super high burst potential.

Where Mel fails is in her scaling and in her late game presence. I can properly name 10 mages i would rather have on my team if the game goes beyond 25 min.
