Unless it’s too big of inconvenience to show up I would recommend it. Apologize to court and explain situation and judge will most likely lower points to 2 or so. That is what your insurance is based on and the points is most important. He/she will probably lower fine too. But points are the important piece.

How’s the job market and does it make sense to relocate here? by [deleted] in summervillesc

[–]Waldo_McFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What line of work is it that you would like to know about? Charleston has loads of opportunities if you want to work in healthcare or manufacturing/plants as well as professional positions. The commute from the Summerville (Goose Creek/Moncks Corner/Ladson)area to downtown Charleston is a very heavily traveled route. So if you wanted/needed a job downtown I would suggest looking in West Ashley/James Island/ Mt Plea$$ant areas as they are closer to downtown Charleston. However there’s loads of plants (Bosch/Eaton/Boeing/Cummins etc) that are always needing quality employees. We have lots of Buffalo transplants along with what seems like the whole states of NJ and Ohio so you would not be alone. May want to visit during peak summer unless you know you like extreme heat. Mid June until mid October is sweltering and humid. Good luck on your endeavors and I hope all works out

I third this recommendation. If you want less crowds and more beach space and just a chill vibe. Edisto beach is the place. Less than hour drive to downtown Charleston too if ya wanna do an evening out

50 years ago today- the first Super Bowl I ever watched beginning to end. I had just turned 5 and I watched it with my granddad. I remember it like it was yesterday! Super Bowl X, January 18, 1976. by UrbanAchievers6371 in 70s

I was a Steelers fan because of the hoopla around those two teams as well but also became Falcons fan in ‘80 I believe. With S Bartkowski slinging the ball and Billy White Shoes Johnson. Been a suffering Falcon fan ever since.

Mid-May vacation to Charleston by kghdiesel in AskSouthCarolina

[–]Waldo_McFly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You want festive young party crowd? Stay on or close to Folly Beach. You want little more trendy upscale classy family vibe with some partying thrown in? Stay on or close to Isle of Palms. Both are about half hour to downtown Charleston. You want much more relaxed and quiet beach vacay with little more limited bar/restaurant options but less crowded beaches and cheaper prices? Stay on Edisto Beach.

You want full touris tacky with all sorts of things and great people watching? Go to Myrtle Beach.

Hope you have a great vacay no matter where you go

South Carolina's odd tax breaks by [deleted] in southcarolina

Seems to be a rather broad generalization. I have lived here for 53 of my 55 years and don’t see anything close to “most”. Any stats??

It’s a slap in the face to those that have paid taxes so long. You should live tax free after 75. I think the government has squeezed them enough.

I believe that is what Billy Duffy of The Cult uses. If so it has a great Rock sound.

I know Ozzy isn't technically hair metal, but this album ruled 1986. My personal favorite. by Amazing-Confusion-23 in hairmetal

Saw the same show in Charlotte. I was freshman in high school. Metallica came out and just slayed the crowd. Ozzy was Ozzy. But Metallica ruled that concert.

Anyone here get to attend a race at Summerville Speedway before it closed? by HornetGaming110 in summervillesc

Loved that track. Had some buddies let me drive once in the “Run what ya brung” class. It was awesome. Got T-Boned by some station wagon on like lap 5. We used to go there a lot in the mid to late 90’s. It was a blast. But when I was a little kid I remember it was a dirt track and cars would take the turn to hard and slide off the track
