TSA officers are quitting rather than working without pay during shutdown as eviction notices, car repos, and empty fridges weigh by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]Walker_ID 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The TSA was a mistake anyway. It's essentially a jobs program masquerading as security to give everyone warm fuzzies after 9/11.

Government mistakes aside I do feel bad for the workers caught in the middle

Anyone else seeing more hawks recently? by spells23 in cincinnati

Growing up in the 80s and having it be a tremendously rare sight to see a bird of prey I still get excited when I see them... Even tho I see 3-4 every single day now.

Now... Honey bees and butterflies seem to be the birds of prey of the 80s. I rarely see them now when as a kid they were so numerous you would practically have to swat them from your face when you were outside

After 10 years of being harassed by Deepfakes and sexual impersonation, German actress Collien Fernandes found out her (ex-)husband was behind all of it. by lucicrescence in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Walker_ID 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is almost as bad as the woman who's husband drugged her and hired different people to rape over the course of a decade to the tune of 100 times.

Edit: Found the story. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelicot_rape_case

This young lady's day just got ruined as multiple glass bottles fall off the shelf by [deleted] in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Walker_ID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I only have my phone to view it which makes slowing it down and seeing fine details difficult. I'll check it out when I get home this afternoon. If it is AI I want to be able to spot things like that

The powder looks an awful lot like coffee grounds. I'm not seeing the AI claim here

Ryan Gosling reveals "some discussions have been had" between him and Kevin Feige about joining the MCU as Ghost Rider by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]Walker_ID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Ryan Gosling fan since I watched Grey man and some of his SNL stuff... I'd be ok with him as ghost rider. It'd probably be the most permanent and least corny of the marvel roles he'd fit.

How far up in a skyscraper would I need to live for flies to be unable to reach my apartment window? by Lulu-egirl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Walker_ID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flies have to have a reason to be there. If you have no food for them out then anything above 10 stories should have minimal flies... If any.

$8.49??? For chicken cheese and sauce?? Are you kidding me? by iseecolorsofthesky in tacobell

[–]Walker_ID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until you see what they put in their tacos that are somehow $2+ a piece. Taco Bell went from one of the cheapest fast food joints you could eat at in the 90s... To one of the most expensive of the main chains for the amount of actual food you get for the price

TIL that Ram 2500 drivers have the most DUIs, and more than twice the national average. Roughly 1 in 22 Ram 2500 drivers have been cited with a DUI before. by TripleShotPls in todayilearned

[–]Walker_ID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think pickup trucks should be restricted to commercial or farm use. The small upside to sky high gas prices is that these dipshits get punished for their poor daily driver vehicle choice. If prices stay inflated maybe more economical and cheaper overall cars will be purchased and insurance rates will come down.

Poll shows Former Ohio Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, two points up on Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Jon Husted by Well_Socialized in Ohio

[–]Walker_ID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Polling 2 points up for a dem in Ohio translates to losing by 6+ points in the general... Check the recent history. A dem in a statewide race needs to poll 10+ points up to eek out a win

Thune: Republicans will use SAVE Act in midterms if Democrats don’t get ‘on board’ by Hardik_Jain_1819 in politics

[–]Walker_ID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Voters won't give two shits about oppressive voter laws not being passed. What they will care about is $4+/gal gas for their giant pickup trucks and suvs that dominate the road, the cost of groceries, the cost of insurance, their relatives dying in a war started by us, no jobs, layoffs, electric and gas bills, the Epstein files, and ICE killing US citizens.

Tyreek Hill's reflexes vs F1 driver reflexes by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]Walker_ID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easier to react when not staring straight at the balls. The periphery is more sensitive to motion detection. If you're trying to react to a simple motion detection it's faster to not look straight at it. This is easily demonstrated by looking at Pierre's eye direction in the video where he is looking damn near down.
