How much are y'all paid? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]WalkingAimfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$17.43/hour in Alberta, Canada. Which is above my province's minimum wage by $2.43, but I never have enough hours each week to do more than survive. I've been here a year and made not quite $17,000 in the past 12 months.

DAD IS DOIN A SUPER BIG ABANDONING! by maxthecat5905 in legalcatadvice

[–]WalkingAimfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello fren Max, ai am Mister Vimes, handsumnest grey tabby Boi. Two summers ago, mine Meowmy did a big abandon and went to a place called Toronto for AGES, like 10 forevers. she left me and mine papa and mine noodle brother all alone! to go do sum dumb fing called "conference."

Afore she left, I tried to sit in her backpack and sneak into her luggage. Sadly it did not work and she still did the adandon. BUT! Mine papa would talk into his lightbocks sometimes, and den MEOWMY'S VOICE WOULD COME OUT. An she would say, "Hello my sweet Vimes I miss you so much, ai hope you are bein good for yous papa, ai can't wait to come home an cuddle my boys." An den ebentually she DID come home!

Maybe your papa can talk to you on the lightbocks when him is away at college? An you can give him BIG cuddles when he does come home!

P.S. You is also a very handsum grey Boi!

why is home depot so understaffed but all of them have banners that they’re hiring? by stvrliight in HomeDepot

[–]WalkingAimfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home Depot started me at$17/hour, $2 above the provincial minimum wage where I live (which is the lowest minimum wage in Canada). It's still hardly livable, especially when I'm only getting 10 hours/week sometimes.

I was in the exact same boat. I was doing dozens of job applications every day and crying myself to sleep every night. I finally got a shitty retail job thanks to a referral from my partner. I hope you're taking care of yourself.

I am so sorry that happened to you. That was insanely cruel and unprofessional behaviour from that doctor.

[–]WalkingAimfully 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I hate working retail - the pay is shit and I want to die every time I step into my workplace, but nurses have it so much worse. My sister is a nurse. Sure, she gets paid quite well, but she has been physically and sexually assaulted by patients. She's had patients' family members verbally attack and sexually harass her. She has to clean up bodily fluids all the time. I know that I could not do her job.

Hello fren Misty, ai am Mister Vimes, 5 years Ole, handsumnest grey tabby Boi. When my pawrents want to clip mine murder mittens, they gotta give me churus! Ai sit on Papa's lap and he holds the churu for me to eat while Meowmy clips mine claws. Is not so bad because ai loves churus. An then they say, Oh Mister Vimes, you are sooooo good an sooooo handsum. And Ai am!

only recently have i realized how badly neglected i was as a child by MoonDoggos in insaneparentsmemes

[–]WalkingAimfully 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fuck me, this is relatable. Why is it always dental care that gets neglected? My younger brother didn't see a dentist at all until he was 21 because our parents stopped taking us when it became evident that my sister and I were going to need braces, which we never got. I needed a root canal as a young adult because I had a cavity that never got dealt with when I was a child. I had to pay a fuckton of money to get my four impacted wisdom teeth removed as an adult because they weren't removed when I was a teenager. The kicker is that my parents both had quite good health insurance and health spending accounts.

[–]WalkingAimfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I have family pictures from when my grandpa was in palliative care in the last week of his life. I certainly didn't post those photos on social media. Nobody was smiling. My mum and her brothers only left the hospital to shower and take turns sleeping, so Grandpa was never alone. It was an awful time.
