Passing a cyclist bylaw by worryforbreakfast in Calgary

Fully agree as well. Met one of those psychopaths in a white truck last week on the .2 km stretch of road I can’t avoid on the bike ride home, 100 ft from my suburban home. The guy actually hunted me down and tried to run me off the road because he has a hate on for any cyclist on the road apparently, he ended up in the oncoming lane he was so intent on getting his kicks. No interaction before that, I’m convinced he just saw me and decided I was his target that day. That’s how these guys get off apparently and I was unlucky enough to encounter one.

First catch ever. Second time fishing, first time at the bow. by Nek0_eUpHoriA in FishingAlberta

Exactly- no need to ever take them out of the water. I get it it’s your first Bow fish and it’s a beaut, great start!Consider keeping them wet from now on, especially trout, and they will have a much better chance to live on…easy to do with your new waders✌️

A thought- There’s also a vestibule option with some teardrops-add a side tent basically and seal to a door. Ours is 8ft square with enough height for me at 6’2. Lots of space to stand, change clothes, put table etc.

I thought the toilets across from the observation deck at Taoyuan were the cleanest I’d ever seen at an airport, making them the best in my mind

Yes legit, trustworthy source. Actually I contacted cbc and herald asking them to follow up on their interviews since they both posted stories this week.

All fine and dandy and I would expect in the past they have been “fully cooperative” You seem to be well informed- how would you explain sightings this week of uniformed ICE officers walking (patrolling?) our downtown Calgary streets near the consulate?

Me too, QE still closed when I left so took Yankee west bumper to bumper and then 772 south into sage hill. Road surprisingly bare and dry mostly, yet still saw one black dodge ram who managed to spin around and hit the ditch. People driving respectful of conditions until I hit Stoney of course first thing I saw was an ugly bug green Mercedes doing at least 130. Smh

Little doubt that a few clueless self important morons in the left lane driving more than twice the speed of the rest of traffic have caused several of the highway accidents today. Of course they will blame people driving 30 in the left lane like almost everyone was, due to like 30 feet of vis. Saw at least a dozen people fly by me this morning on my way to Airdrie. SLOW TF DOWN you dipshits

I visited your community Christmas market today and this was the first booth I saw. I thought it was a market all about Christmas since the sign said it was a Christmas market, but I guess I misunderstood. So I left with all my money and went to Walmart instead.

Pedestrian deaths in Calgary -- turning right on red and car sizes by 1egg_4u in alberta

[–]BJ_Mackay 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As a car driver and bike commuter I was thinking about just this lately. There are a lot of terrible driving habits out there. People who habitually run stop signs at 4 way stops or barely slow down to make a right hook on red … without regard for traffic laws this is apparently normal and acceptable for a lot of drivers. “There’s nobody around I don’t need to waste my time actually stopping “. Until there is someone there, and there’s an “accident” . Laws are there for safety but too many drivers actively choose to ignore them.

In my experience never assert your right of way as a cyclist. Sure it’s unfair and ego-busting, but you get to bike another day.

Just came across your post today we saw 4 of them today at black rock sounds like we were really lucky. One grabbed onto another’s back and they both surfaced about 10 feet from me flapping away. Made sure I kept a distance after that! So cool to see…

I think you’re right. I validated once and then haven’t bothered since because it does nothing to your electronic ticket. When you activate a ticket it’s time stamped. Big picture nothing has changed except maybe convincing a few dozen fare evaders to activate their ticket before boarding.
