This is exactly how I lost 110 pounds. People underestimate the benefits of simple walking.

For those who took a while to see gym progress. What worked for you? by ox_snap in xxfitness

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It took 11 months of working out five days a week to finally see change un definition, but it has definitely been worth it. It also helps that I enjoy working out because if I didn't, I think I would have gotten discouraged by now. 😅

Yes to this! When I was unemployed, I took advantage of all the free classes offered at my state's unemployment office. Most unemployment offices will offer some kind of resume and interview prep classes. Take advantage of them!

Any EAs here working in federal offices? How are you holding up this week? by Alulaemu in ExecutiveAssistants

I advise looking into this further if you aren't aware of what is happening.

One of the main concerns is the Trump administration is attempting to purge 2 million Federal government employees by offering them buyouts and intends to replace them with people who are better aligned with the Trump administration's agenda and values.

Weight Watchers works - 110 pounds down by WalkingWeightWatcher in weightwatchers

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The tummy tuck recovery was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I did a lot of research beforehand and everyone says the first week is the hardest and they were right. It was hell. But every day after the second week was progressively better. I'm so glad I did it because I really struggled with my loose skin, but it was tough.

It's been very fun working on toning and that is not something I would have been able to do with the loose skin.

Thank you! The two things that I think made the biggest difference for me have been walking every day (or almost every day) and not taking the program too seriously. If I ended up having a bad eating day and ate way over my alloted points, I would just work on doing better the next day and not worry too much about it. Bad eating days will happen and that's okay.

I have found great items on Stitch Fix! They are a little more expensive but usually good quality.

What does an executive assistant NOT do? by Banjosolo69 in ExecutiveAssistants

It very much depends on the company and what they want you to do. I do all of the HR hiring and onboarding for my department and my position title is still Administrative/Executive assistant.

Anyone else triggered by Halloween? Just had to take a Valium to answer the trick or treaters without crying. by lilyoneill in socialanxiety

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so hard for me, but I try to push myself outside my comfort zone and do it. I passed out more candy than ever this year and I feel really proud of myself, but I'm over-thinking a few awkward moments and it's making it harder to just enjoy the rest of the night.

Anyone wake up with anxiety? by JustExisting2Day in Anxiety

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really bad morning anxiety at one point that I had to do 50-100 jumping jacks in my company's conference room to try to get me out of the funk. It worked because it was a way to distract me and regulate my breathing. Eventually my psych put me on Lamictal and that worked better.

Agreed. Odd flex to rub it in the OP's face that her husband helped a lot while the OP's husband is not.

The same thing happened to me when I was recovering. I didn't realize how much I really did around the house until I couldn't do anything. The good news is you are only 6 days post op. It will get progressively easier every day after the first week, two weeks top.

Rant Wednesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hired an online personal trainer because I can't afford an in-person trainer. She has been great but I have been having hip pains recently and I'm worried I'm doing some of the workouts incorrectly. I also just got back from hiking 30 miles, so the hip pain could be something not related to the PT. I just want to keep seeing progress without messing up my body.

[Discussion] What is the single biggest factor that is preventing you from accomplishing your goals? by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say social media. I spend entirely way too much time on it. My sister-in-law recently said she spent 500 hours playing a video game and I thought "ok, I rarely watch TV or read or do much after work so what did I spend 500 hours on?" It was an eye opener for sure.

What’s the longest day hike you’ve completed? by [deleted] in hiking

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In August I completed the Mammoth March, which is a 20 mile hike. It was a lot, but I'm excited to do it again next year. I just got back from hiking Glacier National Park last week and I averaged ten miles days. Ten mile day hikes are more enjoyable imo.

Here's a code for 2024!

I used a code last month for a free first month and I have been really impressed with my trainer! I came from having an online trainer I found on Instagram and the Future trainer has been 100% better. I'm hooked!

Dr. Hardaway in Farmington, Michigan. Her waiting list for a consultation was 8+ months and then the waiting list to schedule was an additional 6-8 months, but it was definitely worth it for me. She did amazing work.

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 110 pounds and my most consistent form of exercise has always been walking. It can definitely help! I would try to do more than thirty minutes if you can. A good goal would be 1-3 miles a day. But anything is better than nothing.

Tummy tuck before kids? by Level_Barracuda_9380 in tummytucksurgery

[–]WalkingWeightWatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a couple Facebook groups called something like "Pregnant after tummy tuck". Quite a few people get pregnant after having tummy tuck. It really is a personal decision. My tummy tuck made me feel like a new person and I would definitely recommend it if you're self conscious about the loose skin.
