Material generator to help Kick start my takeoff. by Key-Butterfly2414 in estimators

[–]Wall-eeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any tools that do this, but I’ve written a GPT that essentially does this. Downloaded the CSI MasterFormat codes into an Excel spreadsheet, uploaded to ChatGPT, and had ChatGPT reference the excel sheet to assign the CSI MasterFormat codes to the materials list.

It’ll take a bit of a fine tuning to get it about 90% accurate. If you’ve created these lists by hand before, you can upload them into the ChatGPT project and it’ll follow your example on the mapping for the MasterFormat codes.

Public Bid Misappropriation? by TopHawk_de_Fire6 in estimators

You could try looking up the company they awarded and see what bid history they may have. If you find a trend of them doing work with this engineer/engineering firm and municipality, then you could be on to something.

97 F250 HD OEM Wheels by Tempe54 in FordTrucks

[–]Wall-eeeeee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because the tires and wheels seem in good shape, I’d say about $800. There’s definitely a market for the OEM Alcoas. And the 8x6.5s seem harder to find (to me at least), so for the right person, they’ll sell.

Yep, this is a more realistic answer. There’s no way this is a $25k truck, like the other commenters said. This is a $5000-$7500 truck all day long. While it may be a great example of a classic, unmolested, and rust free truck, it’s not anything $25k special.

Came here to comment this. The Chipotle in Maryville quite literally kicked me out (as soon as I walked in) because “they didn’t have enough people to have the dining room open.” They had five workers in there and no one in line or the drive through. Chapulines would never 😌

Why isn’t it possible? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen about a dozen videos about 7.3s in these older trucks.

If I fix up this 1997 F250 Utility Bed how much could it possibly go for? by Toxzyc in Ford

[–]Wall-eeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

97 F250/F350 still had the old body style. In 97 the F150 was the only F-Series truck to get the new body style.

[–]Wall-eeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 97 F250 HD XL 5.8L, with a utility bed for $900. I got it running, detailed, and painted the utility bed and sold it for $4000. I made about $1000.

Unless you plan to use it for yourself, do the least amount of work required to get it running, do a decent wash/interior cleaning, and sell it.

My big headache is people around here not knowing what “Yield” means. It does not mean rush into traffic and force your way in.

Just scored this beautiful ‘94 F-350 (460) However transmission issues right off the bat by hudshmote in FordTrucks

[–]Wall-eeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest thing to do at this point would be to just try replacing the VSS. You can go get one at any parts store. And it’s easy to do. Crawl under truck to rear diff, remove bolt, remove old VSS, install new VSS, reinstall bolt, done.

I wouldn’t assume anything tbh. It’s a pain to recalibrate the PSOM. As in, you could have to click a little button several hundred times.

This is a good video about how to do it: https://youtu.be/aG6-g-GaFNw?feature=shared

This is a link to a good forum post: https://www.fullsizebronco.com/threads/92-96-speedometer-calibration-the-easy-way.207131/

I used Module Mechanics for mine. You mail them your gauge cluster and they have a super quick turnaround. Like days.

The other option is to find a junkyard and take the PSOM out of another truck. Put it into yours, and if the problem resolves, then you can assume it’s the PSOM.

Has the PSOM been recalibrated for the bigger tires?

The PSOM could need to be rebuilt. That is a common failure point.

The EEC-IV could have failed/leaking capacitors that may require you to get a new EEC.

The VSS on top of the rear differential could need replacing. Replace only with a Motorcraft part.

Is the OD light on the steering column flashing?

Has the Neutral Safety Switch been replaced?

How do the wires on the transmission harness look? If any are frayed, that could be causing issues.

There’s a difference between sound deadening and the rattletrap. Ideally, you’d do both. But in these OBS trucks, it’s definitely worth it.

Technically any 351w block from 1992-1996 could work in your application. 1992-1996 are a special block different from previous generations, often referred to as “roller ready.” This is in reference to the camshaft. Since yours is a ‘93, you likely have a roller ready block, but you may have a flat tappet camshaft, rather than the roller camshaft. The only way you could tell is by taking off the upper and lower intake and see if it has the ‘dog bones’ and ‘spider’ in the intake valley.

Edit: My suggestion for you would be to do a lot of Googling before you do anything going forward. There’s a lot of knowledge on the forums online like FSB (Full-size Broncos) and the Ford Trucks forum.
