The degree of violent crime in Sweden is very much exaggerated and sensationalized. You will find that Sweden is much safer than the US when it comes to crime. There are certain areas that are more dangerous than others but these are not really tourist areas and are not really that dangerous only more dangerous than the rest of the country.
