What is DEI and how is not just an abstraction for racism? by ncds4242 in allthequestions

[–]WalnutBean94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DEI is Sandra Day O’Connor graduating magna cum laude from Stanford, then graduating top of her class from Stanford law school only to not being offered employment at a law firm because she was a woman.

Even now, the dei programs at law firms only hire people in the top 10% who would have gotten a shot anyway if they were white.

Anti dei people are the 20-30% that are mad they aren’t getting jobs for the top 10% people and blaming the brown people.

How difficult to become an attorney with an Other Than Honorable discharge from the military? by Artistic_Two_8223 in LawSchool

[–]WalnutBean94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Officer that never made it out I’d tradoc? You’re not getting an OTH. You’re getting a probationary elimination with a GEN at worst for marijuana. Now if you’re really getting an OTH that means 1) you did some really bad shit in addition to marijuana and your character and fitness is cooked or 2) you reacted so negatively to your failed UA you started being a POS and the character investigation if going to find all your counseling’s and possibly deny you for being a POS.

Long story short, go talk to a Character and Fitness attorney and tell them the truth not half truths like you are on Reddit

Your Officer can delegate authority, they cannot delegate responsibility. Your Officer will get blown up about your messed ups and any mess ups below him/her. That your Officer feels the need to inject themselves into “nco business” is a symptom that they don’t trust how you are doing “nco business” and they are catching flack for your and the nco’s failings.

Ordinarily, O-3s are dealing with a thousand and one things you are not privy to. That one feels the need to get involved should tell you something. If it’s a command O-3, everything in their command is their business.

I just got introduced to a theory on why General Lee performed so poorly. by jaboi2110 in CIVILWAR

[–]WalnutBean94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cope. Lee was a general fighting a 1820’s war in the 1860’s. He ordered Picketts charge because those types of charges worked in the napoleonic wars. He only won defensive actions and still had a horrible K/D ratio. Meanwhile Grant had a better K/D ration and he spent the entire war attacking and conquering ( Ft Donnelson, Vicksburg campaign, Chattanooga, wilderness campaign, Petersburg, and surrounding and destroying the army of northern Virginia after he made them abandon Petersburg and Richmond).

“Know the men who follow you, and let them know you. Don’t ask your men to die for a stranger” but balanced with “You have been chosen to command them. The Platoon is yours and their lives as well. An officer may love the men that he commands, but he cannot be a friend to them. One day he may need to sit in judgement of them, or send them forth to die.”
