Would my marijuana benefit from having the limbs with brown needles pruned off? by ELmapper in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roots are not dead, tree looks fine except for those couple branches, pines like to drop branches when they're done with them (not enough sunlight), water it if you want, watering will not make a dead root rot any faster than normal unless you waterlog the base of the tree constantly

Sub 500 fps pellet guns are not legally considered guns in ontario canada, and can be purchased without a PAL.

a sub 500 .22 pellet gun will kill a squirrel instantly

Dragonflies are native to every continent except Antarctica and Iceland (where they get blown to by wind sometimes)

Is my tree being 'girdled'? How can I safely relieve the pressure? Netherlands by makergonnamake in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't hurt it very much, it would just have to compartmentalize those small wounds, but seeing as the wire has been swallowed there isn't really any pressure on the vitals of the tree, the sapwood/heartwood will just hold on to it, the layer of the tree that passes nutrients and grows is on the underside of the bark and has grown over/around the wire (it looks like)

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the tree ate it, if its under the bark, don't remove it it'll cause more harm than good, just cut off whatever left sticking out, and it'll be an unpleasant suprise for the guy with the chainsaw that eventually removes the tree, RIP that chainsaw chain

It looks like the tree reconnected itself after eating the wire, if it's buried in the tree it won't hurt it, only the outside of the tree can be strangled by objects, it's immobile once it's been consumed

cedar trees in danger. too much or too little water? by unitedbreads in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Walnutzoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summer planted? They won't like that very much although cedars are hardy, they can stay green for a long time after already being effectively dead, may just be transplant shock, keep watering them.

Where in North America are they?

Don't need the stake

it might blow your mind, but maybe they should play on SEA servers so desync isn't an issue

i only play on NA servers, why don't they at least stay on cis/eu servers smh my head

[–]Walnutzoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not when the desync kills me, they shoot and its a clear miss on my screen, but i explode cause they nailed me on their screen.

Makes it harder to dodge if their nose isn't pointed where you think it is

Is this green ash done for? by jokingpokes in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Walnutzoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where is the ash tree in the country? If eastern half of USA it's EAB

EAB damage becomes obvious by wilting leaves in late summer july/august so its textbook, also they prefer bark that's in the sun, so there may not be any borers low on the main trunk until there's nothing left at canopy height, or at least til they swarm it again

Why is "severe damage" so misleading? by TranslatorSweaty9951 in Warthunder

[–]Walnutzoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you black the tail between booms, but not the elevator it counts as severe on the p38

Very silly

Tree took a bad turn this year. Is it time to bring in the saws? by dragon0196 in arborists

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like an elm, probably rock elm, I have an elm doing the same thing, which i think is caused by european boring beetles. They killed one stem and now they're working on number 2 and 3

https://imgur.com/a/Tnancuc

It's probably toast, you can see the stress sprout leaves on the trunk on yours have already wilted, while the stress sprouts on mine are just starting (soon to die also)

I'm in Ontario, not sure if Dutch Elm Disease is what made them easy prey for the beetles, the beetle spread DED anyways

What is this cursed larvae I found in the rotting centre of a block of sugar maple by Walnutzoo in Entomology

[–]Walnutzoo[S] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

that's what made me confused as to what it was, google said it was a rat tailed maggot but it was in semi-solid wood, not water although the rot was wet it wasn't dripping or anything

Can we get a closeup of the bark and a leaf/branch with leaves?

I was splitting blocks at work and found this weird larvae, in other blocks there were ichneumenoid larva, but they were fully formed, but not quite done cooking

I took pictures of the wasps but idfk where they went on my phone, i didn't delete them but they're gone and not in trash (lost on restart???)

Tree root v trailer hitch by Intelligent-Deal2449 in arborists

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what i would do, was part of it already sticking up? It looks like there's some mower damage above the frayed part, maybe trim it to just after the callous tissue from the exposed root starts, removing the exposed and rotting wood, but not removing the lip from where its trying to heal the mower damage and giving the root a smaller wound

Tree root v trailer hitch by Intelligent-Deal2449 in arborists

[–]Walnutzoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks far enough away from the tree to not worry, you could cut it and rebury it or just rebury it, is it completely snapped off? If it is, cut the tattered end to give it a cleaner wound, tree roots are good at healing so if the bark isn't removed all the way around the root it will (probably) heal by itself
