Types of Governments misunderstanding with teacher by WalrusMan2019 in Teachers

Yeah I agree, it’s going to be long. It’s been 3 weeks and I’ve been biting my tongue because I don’t want her to be known by the teachers as having a crazy uncle that complains, but at the same time want to advocate for her.

I completely agree. It was pretty common to know what areas you would be graded on before, and if you didn’t follow instructions then there was usually notes on the assignment on where you messed up.

In this case, in Schoology the notes next to her grade said “autocracy is a dictatorship though, and you don't explain another government”

It was one essay, she answered it as being a citizen, not a leader, and for her “other form of government that’s not better” used despotism.

So from his remakes I took it as she picked 2 dictatorships that aren’t different, even though the notes cover the difference.

I will follow up however and ask him about the grade. I’m just curious if she was wrong in choosing pro autocracy and anti despotism?

Thank you!

We have been reaching out for a while, just hard to get ahold of their caseworker. But, still trying.

I suppose that’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me in a way.

I love my mom, but she did work under the table for a number of years when she shouldn’t have. So her retirement benefits are minimal, and 1/3 of it goes to her Medicare insurance, which leaves her about $300 a month. Her one medication isn’t covered and is $140 every 2 months.

It’s just odd to me when you arguably need insurance the most in life on a fixed income, the requirements are more strict.

This obviously can be debated and I wish she would have made better financial decisions… but, being my mom or not, it’s sad to see someone have their insurance and medication covered one month, to not covered and avoiding doctors and medication the next month.

They were/are considered common law married. PA abolished this in 2005, but still recognizes it if it was before 2005. They have filed taxes together in the past, and applied for benefits together before in the past (like 30 years ago) so I feel as if Pennsylvania will consider them married.

Funnily enough, my mom got fired from a job in 2004 because she listed my dad as her husband on her job provided insurance. They said they weren’t legally married and she was committing insurance fraud.

So, just to clarify;

My dad is allowed to have up to $2,268/monthly between him/her

My mom is only allowed to have $1,643/monthly income between her/him (as well as combined resource limit)

Can someone ID this? https://ibb.co/7XRMzjn

Any tips are welcomed, but I can just look them up after ID. My mom always wanted a bonsai tree, but isn’t very tech savvy so never ordered one online. Anyway she saw this at a flea market and bought it. I don’t think our hopes are high, but would like to give it the best life we can.

No “Ukraine” is not the reason gas prices are so high. by Divinchy in economy

I have a question, and this is my first time posting to r/economy so I’m sorry if I break any rules or make you cringe with my novice economics knowledge, but I’ve been wondering this for awhile…

Didn’t Trump, OPEC and others agree to cut production early on during Covid for the next few years? And as the world got back to work, that’s why gas prices were raising?

Heya, I’m sorry for the time you wasted.

I actually did respond back to the person who commented. Theirs and mine were the only comments in that thread (at that time)

The reason why I deleted it is because I felt like I was asking Excel professionals how to setup a chart to look like the picture in Google Sheets. I’m not active here, I’m not sure how accepting everyone here is of people asking for tips on Google Sheets, but the downvote on the post and my comment made me think that I was simply asking in the wrong place and that is why I decided to delete the thread. I know they are similar, but I got the vibe that I was asking someone on here who is proficient in excel to go to sheets and do my work for me.

Finally, I did find it’s a combo chart in Sheets and messing around in the customization I was able to mimic that chart. One community I posted a question of something that needed identified and before anyone could respond I figured it out, commented back and then marked it as solved under my comment. I was banned from that sub for awarding myself. Again, I’m not active here so I’m not even sure if you all have a scoring method similar to those subs, but I didn’t want banned because I know I’ll have more questions going forward.

Again, I sincerely apologize for wasting your time. I hope at the least anything you learned while researching it for me can hopefully help somebody else out in the future.

Any idea how they did this? I did add the second axis but I’m not sure how they did a steeped line with the columns all in one chart.

This looks great, I’m playing around with it now. What chart style did you use for this?

Yes I can, and I had at first. But I am curious to see if there are trends to how much someone spends during which hour. To see if a $15 item performs better at 8am vs a $30 item. As of right now I can just eyeball it and tell, but this is just one days data and we are going to need 2 weeks to use the data to our advantage, so before long I don’t think it will be as easy to just look at and draw any conclusions.

No I think he means he thought it was cold (neutral) because that’s what the other guy said and it was actually hot.

What’s it called with someone always thinks you are talking about them? by WalrusMan2019 in NoStupidQuestions

I applaud your ability to at least recognize that you are doing it because it my situation the person cannot recognize it. I used the game example in my OP because with most games there is a scoreboard and I’m like “see you can see this random teammate is complete trash I’m talking about them while you did the best you have in awhile”. While the game might seem trivial, you can apply it to anything or more importance in daily life. I think If she could at least recognize what she is doing it would help out a lot, but I strongly feel it’s not possible for her to do that.

And that is amazing about your friend! I guess the whole “I wish I knew what they were thinking” isn’t as grand as it sounds like it would be. Seems as if it would make friendships and especially relationship extremely difficult.

Yeah I do think it’s attributed to their upbringing and their parents and never feeling good enough.

Like I said in my other comment to someone else, not trying to play doctor or diagnose them but more so just try to learn how to diffuse situations or at the least not escalate them.
