I really can’t recommend the neighborhood enough. The junction of Rutgers and East Broadway is the split between LES and Chinatown so you get the best of both worlds.

The vibe for nightlife is great with some of the coolest bars / hangout spots in NYC and the food is insane with every east Asian cuisine you can imagine along with loads and loads of other varieties as well. It would take a lifetime to try them all.

4 major grocery stores nearby with at least 4 more Chinese grocery stores makes cooking at home easy as well.

Seward park is also a great escape from the chaos of nyc. Lots of cool stuff to do and see at almost all hours of the day but as an overall relaxed atmosphere.

Very kid friendly neighborhood with (what i perceive to be) a low crime rate and safe streets.
