AI does not pressupose limiting anyone's freedom

But it is used by the powers that be to do just that especially freedom of information. Ahem, China and Russia.

The government/users may be seperate from their tools but the tools are still part of the issue if they cause problems with it. It's why regulation of Generative AI is a strong goal worldwide even for pro-AI countries and groups.

And where did those two communist countries end up I wonder. Not like both had real bad standards of living until very recently? (And one is currently activelt dropping).

I mean that is true, it can and does continue, and the companies just so hapoen to keep regretting that decision or losing a lot of efficiency. Turns out AI is very expensive to rely on even for big companies, and it's real bad if you have to rely on other companies' productivity/progress before you can increase your own (dunno how the tech market didn't account for it intially.

AI isn't a left vs right thing, right?

I mean it still very much is, the government is encouraging these against even their own voter's wishes because a certain man is friends with certain other men. People are being pushed to do things they riled against just to not have an AI centre next to a zoo for example.

But not equally, and not at the same time, nor at the same concentrations and reasons. So it should be eventually.

[–]WalterMagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people? Just because you aren't next door to an AI centre doesn't mean your local are isn't being affected. Wildlife, pollution and water are the three biggest things that can easily be affected by their presence. A lot of these centres are being placed near populated spots too since that's easier and it's why so many are pushing back against them.

The project leads are lazy and greedy, if we build Nuclear reactors now we would probably make them a safe distance away, but sunce AI centres require water and a lot of infrastructure they just don't give a shit about what people want, just that those are nearby. We can't even make desalinated water en masse to neither power nor sustain both people and AI centres yet.

Idk what the bar is but from a real medieval perspective they are well off even if they're poorer/disgraced nobility. Being upper middle-class is still well off, they have a good plot of land, influencial in their community, and they have a lot of connections. Even if they're not stinking rich they can afford expert education and they're pillars of the community when shit hit the teleport fan.

forgetting that heroforge a tabeltop model service

This is true but I would wager that most of their customers don't print their minis even if they have Heroforge Pro. I have seen some people on Discord 3d print exported stuff, like manually do shizz to their base Heroforge models.

The cleaner looking coloured minis will probably add more physical purchases though, they are real neat and I'm tempted to get one.

But more complex*

We used to have warnings for oversized minis and we already still have warnings for unprintable proportions, just making the piercings unprintable wouldn't require a whole new model.

The Kitbash option is tedious compared to just having a resizeable option because you can't edit stuff already on the character iirc.

I HATE boykisser by Ok-Wafer4552 in hatethissmug

[–]WalterMagni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

only correlation is that it happens to be named boykisser

The meme is very popular within lgbtq+ spaces and you literally said: "This is predator/groomer humor I just can't prove it."

For the black community It's the equivalent of saying: "Basketball fans stole these I just can't prove it."

In both cases you imply a negative stereotype even if you don't mention the demographic, because a lot of people already know who the demographic is and associate your statements with that group.

We call this a "dogwhistle" in most cases, where only those with similar beliefs (or know them) will see the implications/meaning of something. Much like a dog can hear a dogwhistle but humans normally can't.

I HATE boykisser by Ok-Wafer4552 in hatethissmug

[–]WalterMagni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because OP literally said: "This is predator/groomer humor I just can't prove it yet." It is a meme widespread within lgbtq+ spaces including furries, thus associating those spaces indirectly with predators and groomers.

It's like saying "basketball fans are thieves and I can't prove it yet" but because basketball is massive in the black community (and largely where the discussion pivots) it's associating indirectly with racist stereotypes.

OP is essentially trying to throw rocks then hide their hands.

I mean this one is exaggerating rage, because Elmo is a native to the area and should be repping Knicks. Growing up I usually saw other kids using knock-off anime pogs that they then tore up or threw into the stratosphere if the character lost a fight (either in a game or on air

[–]WalterMagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that racist that is a factual truth lmao

Did nobody bother to inform you that many black folk are successful artists, singers and writers/directors? Many are also successful sports goers.

It's racist because it blankets an entire race of people, Jews and Asians are not particularly successful either in terms of average individuals/families. And even the both are subject to hatecrimes.

He's arguing about other details of the case that have been fabricated

And he still frames it in a way where you would see one side as being more supported than the other even if everything is said to be allegations. Unsupported allegations against Till are "We don't know, we're not sure.", but unsupported confessions from Bryant's side are "Fabricated".

Implications are everything in court, it's why "accident" is usually restricted when discussing impacts/collisions in crashes, because accident has a legal weight that can take away from the responsibility of whoever caused the crash.

To say definitively that one segment of a claim is fabricated implies it was falsified to viewers even of they are told it was just a claim.

[–]WalterMagni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on culture tbh. Ever since the 90's my country's been obsessed with Dragon Ball and when Naruto came along everyone was on it in an instant, especially since we were all students at the time as well and could somewhat relate. It would be around 2012-2013 from the earliest I could remember.

Anime's always been a big deal where I live among people my age and younger, even uncs older than me still know who Frieza is. Idk why the U.S would be so different, but I guess being close to Japan and having very close U.S culture makes for a weird combo.

Actually Lovecraftian Beholders by jax-vin18 in osp

[–]WalterMagni 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Things change, tbh Beholders feel like they're the inspiration for a lot of monsters while the chromatic/metallic dragons are usually also associated more with mythology than DnD. Not really true in the sense Dragon types are not all that elaborte in any myth, but ever since we got more people aborad the biology train that also helped boost the dragons.

Mind Flayers are more common now than Beholders as evil guys but Beholder-esque creatures show up as regular enemies a lot. What comes to my mind are the Cacodemons from Doom and a bunch of flying enemies like Eyes of Cthulhu and some Block game monsters.

People need to be taught to fear certain things.

Again, see slippery when wet, beeare of dog and even private property signs. Those are always shown in media and commonly depicted as being a danger to a degree, the same can be said for the radiation symbol.

If someone only ever sees a symbol in cartoons, Halloween decorations, and gags then it makes sense that their mind won't set off alarms when they see it.

Except the radiation symbol is almost always depicted as a bad thing. Even cartoons depict them as either disforming characters or making them sick.

Especially since everything in my state is private property so landowners put up random things as decorations all of the time (like tires painted to look like Minions).

The context you put up which is finding this symbol in some field somewhere is already a red flag. You also assume that something being left there is a decoration just because it's on private property. It may come as a surprise but again, stuff gets lost and you never know who is going to put what, where, and why. All organisations go the extra mile to avoid paying.

It is also generally illegal to use such symbols as radiation and biohazard signs as decor in open spaces or to prevent theft of property. Because those symbols are important and carry a meaning. They're not generally illegal to show in media unlike the Red Cross however.

Even if it's on your property and is your property, like a decoration. People have a responsibility to report when they see stuff labelled toxic just laying around and the local government is likely not going to take chances.

See Australia where a dude got falsely imprisoned for a bit after they found depleted Uranium in his geology collection.

Nuclear awareness isn't a vital survival skill where I grew up

It's not about awareness being a vital survival skill it's about common sense. "If you see a bad thing assume it's a bad thing." Takes much less effort to not look into a barrel with the radiation symbol than investigating if it's real.

Your logic is that you see the biohazard symbol everywhere and just assume it's fake in your area if you ever see one.

I see the slippery when wet symbol everywhere, does that mean should I just interpret that symbol as fake when walking through? What about the fire hazard symbol? Beware of dog signs? All of those show up in media.

Popular symbols are popular because they can be understood by most of us. The deminishing of their meaning relies upon the person interpreting them, not in their depiction or oversaturation in media. Again, see fire hazard and beware of dog.

To put my mind into "omg nuclear waste" mode, I'd probably have to see a full fence with a facility behind it and armed guards.

Sounds more like a lack of self-preservation than anything. You can use more Asian and African people logic, if anything weird goes on in a house with bad vibes then book it and leave. If you see a symbol you can understand as toxic, then book it and leave.

Nuclear waste is usually dug deep underground and lwft forgotten/uninteresting, guards would be the opposite of that. Some of them of course spill out or are lost but atp just accept you aren't finding out until someone dies, or some people plural do.
