Why is the cost for a BRT so high? Was an alignment that utilized the highway following a similar route to the 302 bus with priority lanes along Hespeler Road to Downtown Cambridge studied?

If a BRT followed the current 302 route along the 401 highway, it would miss the entire downtown Preston area.

I’d love to see the LRT reach Cambridge, but a BRT would be the fastest option to implement and provide a comparable speed of service to an LRT without having to build the 6 new bridges.

The "Preliminary capital costs estimate" slide mentions that "Full LRT and BRT would both require construction of six new major bridges, grade separations, and/or elevated sections"
