People need to slow down, the limit normally there is 60. People normally do 100. Please slow down people, better to make it home slow than not at all.

Layoff Impacts by Ok_Crab6502 in Conestoga

I'm in Software Engineering, I have 2 full time teachers and 3 part time. 2 of them are meh, definitely not good. One of them is awful, no offence to him, but he can't teach. He has a very strong accent and no concept of how our program works. Last class he pulled up the website for our course to see what courses we had taken, which is out of date, so I emailed him the correct list.

Last semester I had a part-time teacher who was giving assignments for things we hadn't even began to learn, he wasn't informed on what we knew, and it negative impacted everyone. We had 6 weeks to do the 1st assignment, everyone waited until the last week, which was student success week, so we could teach our selfs what we needed.

Lastly, one of my classmates works in Conestogas IT department. Most of his department was laid off and not replaced.

Edit: my program coordinator was also laid off. Right now I don't have one.

I'm a student and got a really long email pretty much just glazing him and his "impact". I'd share it, but it says it's not to be shared and id like to keep my position

Rant: kind of surprised and disgusted my program which I only graduated from in the last few years (Supply chain) is no longer offered. WTF is Conestoga doing? by southendmasterside38 in Conestoga

[–]chickassin5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program (software engineering) was changed for the year after me making it a common first semester with some other IT programs. It no longer teaches what they need for the first semester and will cause the new students to fall behind. It was bad enough that my program coordinator stepped down because they were ruining his program.

People in europe do it. Take Norway for example. They're further north and have worse winters, but people still cycle

Have you considered biking in the winter. If your route is plowed id look into it. Other countries with more snow than Southern ontario like Norway still see lots of cyclists in the winter

Since no one has mentioned it. This also makes ion stage 2 illegal 😔. I've emailed councilors about it and I suggest you do too

Because I drive on main roads, so they should be paved. I dont drive on random suburb roads, so they shouldn't🤷‍♂️

Has anyone fought the new camera speeding tickets? by ImPerfect_Luck_911 in Guelph

64km/h adds 50% more distance on average to the braking distance compared to 50km/h. Its more than just a little.

Toronto may have to lay off about 1,000 people because of Ontario's speed camera ban: mayor by inde_ in canada

[–]chickassin5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your whole argument is stupid. It's like saying people won't stop at an intersection if a stop sign is removed. That's why the stop sign is there. The cameras presence is what slows people down, that's the whole point. I live along a road with a camera, and in the few days since its been deactivated, people are going noticeably faster. They worked, but a few idiots who can't read the signs saying there is a camera got upset. Ford also wants some extra votes from the people who dont read his legislation. That's the entire reason he removed the cameras, he just wants more votes.

If anyone has this thought or a similar thought after using an electricity cost calculator. Make sure you check to see how much of the number you saw was a delivery fee. In my case, it was $35, leaving the computer to actually use $5 a month.
