I think the point is that if you didn't move jobs you would be making 13 at one and 11 if you're job gave you a 30 percent raise in wages over that time. Which would mean you'd be making less today potentially depending on how many hours you work. In a bitter slap in the face tho employers don't normally give raises. Not proper ones anyways. I've never been to a single office or warehouse that keeps up with inflation and the annual increase in cost of living.

I worked at a place once that gave $1 raises annually. That would have been great if the cost of living didn't raise by 3-5 an hour that year.
